Great pleace to meet friends but recently 6 months the door staff has been changed and it like your to tall you cant come in your to small you can't come in your been drinking you can't come in Your not a regular you can't come in Just saying I've been going to rain maybe 20 years to have a late drink and meet friends and now the new door staff are refusing me and many regulars because ? ( I'm in charge ) new door staff

If you are expecting an 80's club you will be disappointed, it's more like a 70's Disco. Plus they played modern pop songs. Drinks were watered down. It was hot.

Rain Night club is attached to the Portobello Bar and Hotel. It's usually quite busy and I can never figure out why. There is nothing special about Rain at all, it's got comfortable chairs, a dancefloor and VIP area and there are places on Harcourt Street, which have more of an atmosphere. Maybe I'm just biased because most of the people in here are a lot younger than me...Anyways, the place is grand but just not my cup of tea. Head down the road to Tramco or around the corner to Harcourt Street.

This place is an absolute nightmare. I went here on a Friday night recently and was charged €5 admission at the door and within minutes I figured out immediately why they call it RAIN - because the female patrons are an absolute shower of the ugliest low-life you have ever seen. Within minutes of entry several of them were begging me to buy them drinks and when I declined, I was faced with a barrage of foul-mouthed abuse. Later that night, I was approached by a 60 something year old female horror who said that I could go with her to the bedroom she had booked in the attached hotel (Portobello Hotel) and it would only cost me €100, needless to say I declined. The price of a pint of beer here varies from €5.80 to €7.50 depending on which barman is pocketing the most. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was approached by a little fat guy who said he was the owner, so I complained about the price rigging, he called his troup of Polish goons and asked me to leave the premises and I was glad to oblige. I would not recommend this dump to anyone other than the really desperate. There are many other good night clubs nearby so stay clear of RAIN !!

I have been here a few times now for a few different events and I have yet to have a bad experience. It's not the largest nightclub but they have two bar areas and a dancefloor so what more do you really need? The staff are brilliant and they seem to specialise in 80s/90s music which is mainly the reason I come back. They tend to cater to a 30+ crowd which is also a plus.

Strictly over 30s in rain nightclub on fri/ sat / sun is an amazing experience. Not only brings me back a few years I have also bumped into so many friends that I'd lost touch with . So for meeting friends old and new Rain does it for me. See ya there.
