Anyone who is familiar with the Chipotle chain from the US will recognize this immediately -- same styles of burritos, same meat choices, same salsas. Even the font on the menu looks the same. Now, given that Chipotle isn't available in Dublin and good Mexican food is tough to come by (save Cafe Azteca), that's not at all a bad thing. This place is open late (11pm weekdays; midnight Fri-Sat), reasonably priced, and oh-so delicious! Order at the counter: pick the style, meat, and extras you want. It will be prepared right in front of you and then off you go with a little bundle of deliciousness. I had brown rice, black beans, and barbacoa and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The service is great and friendly as well...really nice feel here. They had a 2-for-1 promotion running and allowed me to partake even though I hadn't printed out the voucher (environmentalism for the win!). To top it off, they have Cholula hot sauce available (where oh where can you find this in Dublin?). And if your appetite for American knockoffs is still running strong, grab dessert at Eddie Rocket's across the street -- we did!

As far as I remember, Tolteca have been here for quite some time and I've passed it a zillion times but never actually went in. So, I decided to give it a shot on Friday as I wanted something a little different. I'm allergic to hot sauce so I went for a medium heat veggie burrito and it was good! Quite big portion. The staff aren't the smiley, happy people I would expect working at a restaurant like this but I'm gonna say that they were maybe having a bad day? Maybe it was the weather? Who knows. There's not much customer seating available so I had to take mine to go. Probably best, though, it's a messy aul thing to chow down on and sitting beside some randoms while I try to graciously gobble this down wouldn't have been my idea of fun! When I finally got around to eating it, I was very happy with it. It was huge, very tasty and filling. If the staff were a little more friendly and there was more seating, this experience could have gotten a 5*!

Tonight we stayed in and used their delivery service. We ordered a vegetable burrito, beef tacos, carnitas tacos, chips and guacamole. The highlights include: Took an hour and fifteen minutes. Food was cold, not slightly warm, actually cold. The burrito was really soggy, impossible to hold. Added onions to the tacos with the order, weren't in the tacos but in a tiny a plastic container with some cold, slimy onions and peppers. The tacos, also soggy, were really bland and although one set was pork with the corn salsa and the other beef with the hottest salsa, they actually tasted identical and not exciting in any way. They forgot to deliver the chips and guacamole. When I rang there was no apology, we were offered a refund but we preferred to get it sent out. This took another hour and fifteen minutes. I can understand it being Saturday night but when speaking to them on the phone I was given the impression that they could care less that they made an error and their food was well below an acceptable standard. It seems like they tried to copy Chipotle and got it all totally wrong, evident by the mediocre food and incompetent staff. I will never eat their food again.

Being a keen burrito fan - Tolteca is able to fulfill my MBCs (Monday Burrito Crave) with the simplest of ease, and how can they not! Getting a burrito the size of mini rugby ball and weighing in at a generous 1lbs - I wasn't able to move afterwards. The ingredients are always fresh and cooked to succulent perfection. The variety is simply outstanding and it's this what separates Tolteca from it's competitors. Sure you can have a chicken burrito or a nice steak one but if you're one of those people who is extremely difficult to please; why not make it a half and half? And why stop there... If you're not in the mood for a burrito (check yourself out as soon as possible) then Tolteca can fix you up with a nice burrito in a bowl, you know for those who don't like the extra carbs ;) and because the menu is so varied you can get oh so much more. I can sit here and type all day but I'd rather not give everything away so if you are in the vicinity and would like a Mexican experience like no other (in ireland) then definitely check this place out, with their prices being fare and not too steep on the pocket you'd be mad not too and I'm sure even the most non-avid burrito fellow being could be converted to this amazing lunch endeavour that puts a smile on my face every time I have it.

This is very similar to Chipotle in the states! Like Chipotle, it's easy to order a vegetarian or vegan burrito or burrito bowl here. I got a vegan burrito bowl and enjoyed it! The ingredients tasted pretty fresh and the guac was my favorite, as per usual. Not sure if I'd choose it over Chipotle, but if you're looking for that familiar taste in Dublin, Tolteca has it!

A tasty, (slightly) healthier burrito option for those who aren't close enough to a Boojum. I usually get the bowl with wholegrain rice and chicken. The staff seem to instinctively put less cheese and sauce on when you choose this option to make it a 'healthier' option, which is appreciated. While it is more expensive than it's competitors, the food is still great. I'd recommend checking this place out for lunch or even a quick dinner if the option is available.

You guys still have a long way to go. Sure, since the last time i was there the quality has slightly improved, but I had to forgo some of my most favorite things: sour cream and spicy salsa. What is wrong with you? I can't even fathom how sour cream could have been sweet. It says "sour" right in the name, how could you get that wrong? Okay, enough about the food... let's talk about some of the other aspects: - price: is too damn high - staff: indifferent (probably don't even know spanish either) - cleanliness: if you're into that sort of thing, i did smell cleaning products - selection: still pretty abismal Suggestion: avoid if you can, but sometimes you just have a craving for a midnight burrito, and this is the only joint that'll serve you up.

Absolutely officially one of my new favorite places in Dublin. This place reminds me of an American chain, Chipotle. From the set up, to the interior, even the font and color of the menu boards is identical! For quick Mexican, this is as good as you can get! Whether you fancy a burrito, tacos, a burrito bowl, you can get it all. The best combo yet is steak burrito, black beans, white rice, chunky tomato salsa, corn salsa, lettuce, guacamole with a tiny bit of cheese. They still have a little ways to go to be on par with Chipotle, but until then, this will be my favorite fast food Mexican place in Dublin. Fresh, fast and options.

Rubbish to be honest. I only had a burrito but it lacked pretty much any of the character I expect from a good burrito. And to top it all off, it's very expensive, far more so than the competition. Not a patch on: Burritos and blues, boojum, Pablo picanté My advice is to eat almost anywhere else. A sandwich from Tesco next door is preferable. Actually I reckon I could get about 3 sandwiches for the price of a Burrito at Tolteca and from Tesco that would probably include 3 drinks and 3 packets of crisps.
