Thomas House is a nice little punk pub that is a 15 minutes walk outside of city centre & away from the Crazy ass tourists. It reminded me of a place I used to go to in Bellflower called Midway. The only difference is they have good punk music. The beer was excellent and I must quote them on this, "no sissy drinks like an apple martini." I will forever be grateful to this pub as I discovered St. Bernardus. Only the best beer in the world and it's made by Monks. Something about the rich flavors in it made for a climatic experience. As I drank that pint, I tasted all it had to offer. It's dark with a full, ivory-colored head. It was amazing, try it and don't hesitate to go to a punk bar in Dublin, Ireland when you get a chance. First time in here the other day and I must say I enjoyed it rather a lot. Now it was mid-afternoon when I frequented, so I can't say much about the late evenings' entertainment. But, what I can say is this: - It reminded me very much of a New York dive bar inside and I felt very much at home! - They allowed me to bring in my burrito and mill it with my pint as I was starving and they don't seem to serve food - The music was a bit of an eclectic rock mix which I enjoyed - The bar tenders in general were sound - There are lots of drinks specials on Will defo be back, and update this review with more information afterwards!

James Joyce once described Thomas Street as "the open air asylum", a description which, thanks to institutions such as this, holds true to this very day. It's a mad house, literally, the patients are running the hospital. And it's great fun! Expect an interesting artsy crowd with a healthy smattering of headcases. Thomas House is also great for live music and quality DJ's playing quality chunes.

The inimitable Thomas and his dearest public house. So critically important to the development of Man that "THEY" named the whole street after the pub. Thomas has existed longer than time itself and his pub is an integral part of the Universe, built on the back of an enormous turtle. Pilgrims the world over come to seek happiness in this sacred shrine. Once a day, for a mere two hours, beings on a higher plane of existence descend from grace to bless the bar. Pints are three Euro. It is happy hour. There is much rejoicing. Having moved here from New Zealand, the barmen set out to acquire an existing bar and improve upon it by applying their own unique style of decor. The result is an atrocity of architecture and activities in flagrant disregard of the laws of man. It's brilliant. The dank and dark bar, loud music and stark realities of life tends to keep the local population away; Only the hardiest and most adventurous drunkards will venture inside (with the exception of the trendy NCAD crowd, of course.) The result is that a visit here is quite isolated from the regular happenings and dangers of Thomas Street; However, you are exposed to a whole new form of chaos -- way way way too much to drink. This pub has got it all. An empty fish tank propping up a wall? You betcha. The second-wittiest barman in the world? Of course. Ambiguous opening hours? Why, that's the very foundation of the place! Dingy funky rock bar opposite a great gig location. Perfect. I love this place, its always busy as well which is a good sign. Its also pretty retro, with old computer games in the corner and a fish tank. Love it.

We were very surprised by this little find. We were meeting people before a gig at Vicar street and we liked it so much we came right back here after the gig. There is a good selection of beer behind the bar, which kept our thirst sated. But it was the music that kept us entertained first and the decor second. It's a dive bar you see, not that I'd know it. I hear the word dive bandied about on yelp about bars, but a lot of it appears to be debate... from what I read. I like the place, dive bar or not. The staff are nice, the music is good, the decor entertainingly dark and the clientele funky. I'll be back sometime, definitely.

5 stars for beer selection and music. One of the few bars in this area of Dublin that had any craft beers. If you are doing the Guinness Brewery tour this place is only a few blocks away.

On a good night, Thomas House will provide the best party possible in Dublin. I don't come here as often as I'd like, as I usually need weeks to recover from the madness, but that makes the chosen night even more special. Particularly popular among the creative crowd, who all get along although the breathing space can be limited, this energetic venue is an important part of Dublin's club-scene, one where local DJ provide a wide range of danceable tunes and the party-people show them their appreciation by jumping, cheering and even crowd-surfing. I've had some great nights here, and a couple of mad ones. The drinks are moderately priced and the DJs make sure you'll get your week-worth of dancing. Just make sure not to wear your favourite heals, as you will definitely get a few pints spilled on your feet. Instead, grab your dancing-shoes and join the fiasco!
