Yelp 100 Challenge 2019 - 50/100 I had the Americano with hot milk and 3 brown sugar cubes, and then some goodies to share with the group: Flourless raspberry and chocolate cake €4.25;Avocado cake - €4.50 - vegan and raw (not for me); Lemon drizzle - €2.50 lemon curd dollop and drizzle on poppyseed cake. This is a cute little coffee shop so much more intimate and definitely not commercialized like those big named coffee hangouts. Please mind the knick-knacks found around the nooks and crannies of the store.

I live in Glasnevin in close proximity to Mc Mahons and as a regular customer I decided to take part in a trial shift on the 31/05/2024. I was completely shocked and appalled by what I witnessed today in the Cafe. When I was shown where to leave my bag and coat there was boxes on the floor and the floor looked unclean. When I went back into the customer service area I noticed the sink had no soap or paper towels. the walls were covered in dark brown yellowish stains. I was putting the cream which was room temperature into containers and I noticed that one of the containers of creams that was sealed had a black fluff on it. There was no menu warning customers of what the ingredients or allergens that were in the cakes and sweet treats. I was cleaning tables with no proper disinfectant spray. The garden enclosed with a covered roof area lack of ventilation in this area has fake grass covering the walls and floor. The papers and napkins covered the floor. The area also had a strong smell of dog. There was flies over the coffee machine. The food the fridge was not freshly stocked and had been there from the day before. The cakes and sweet treats were placed in a paper bag with handles no box or cover on them. gloves were not worn when handling anything. The plastic divider where the cakes are kept behind is filthy. I thankfully did not finish my trail and I will not be returning knowing all this information. It has gone down since Covid 19. The other staff member was extemely rude and kept bashing into me and being on her phone when she should have been training me and paying attention to customers. I was only there to learn.

This lovely airy, bright space is just getting bigger and bigger! A few weeks ago it was only a small coffee shop but they are expanding into a shop next door which apparently will be open in a couple of weeks, selling fresh produce. I like the fact that everything is so simple yet clean and elegant. It is a small space though and I wouldn't be too comfortable there on a really busy day but with the place getting bigger that problem should go away. The staff were pleasant enough, no issues there. I didn't eat anything yesterday but I usually grade a place based on how good their coffee is and it was good so for that reason I will be back. Not sure yet if they can match the gorgeous food I got earlier in the coffee shop in the nearby Botanic Gardens but I suppose they will have enough footfall to counter that. And things seem to be improving day by day.

So so cute! The girl forgot my scone that I ordered, but the breakfast bagel was good and I could not get over the wonderful and adorable atmosphere. Small but great for a quick, adorable breakfast. No Wi-Fi, though.

Went here after a long visit to the botanical gardens right accross the road. I had in mind to try this café for a couple of weeks. From outside, we could see that the place is spacious and looks lovely. And it was, indeed, lovely. I loved the red details, the ribbons around the cakes, and the colours of the room I was matches perfectly. The place has something truly cute! The atmosphere is a real plus. I also liked the Capuccino I took. Creamy, tasty, not small. My problem is with the service. I found the waitress who served me quite rude. She was not friendly, not smiling, and made me feel like I was not welcomed here. I was sitting at a table that was booked. I didn't know so I said I was sorry and I moved. She sighed loudly at my back and, later, when she brought my order she stayed silent and inexpressive. I know that being a waiter/waitress is not always easy... But I assume that being polite and welcoming when the customer is, is essential. The behaviour always has an impact, favorably or negatively. Maybe I was unlucky and this waitress was having a really bad day. I will give another try someday: it's still too cute to be ignored after only one bad experience.

We all have rough days at work, days where we feel overwhelmed, for whatever reason, and we don't always manage it to perfection. So it was one thing to have experienced bad manners on the part of the manager/owner of this lovely café, when we asked her a simple question. But it was quite another to have come up against a prolonged justification of rudeness, when we decided to take our leave - and impart to her calmly the reason why. Now I'm not married to the concept of the customer always being right. I know we're wrong loads of the time - and we don't always see it. But manners are manners, and this really was a case of being made feel like you had received a short sharp slap on the wrist for having had the audacity to ask what the soup was, when the person was passing to clear up some plates. The finer details - of how busy you are, how many tables you are serving, your workload - don't matter to the customer who's just been made feel unwelcome. A justification for rudeness is not a substitute for what's called for, which is a recognition of upset, and an apology. I have sensed a brittleness of attitude at the top of this business before - in a café that puts great store by appearances, to very good effect - but wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. This experience though has left me in no doubt, and I think it's a loss, because McMahons has so much going for it otherwise. Lovely staff, comprised mainly of young girls with nice manners and a helpful attitude - but from whom, also, one can perhaps detect the note of unease that comes from working under a managerial attitude that does not always seem to be best-coping with the age-old problem of customers.

Adorable quaint cafe located beside the Botanic Avenue. Staff are lovely, reasonably priced and yummy food. Had the breakfast bagel and was so hungry I didn't take a pic. Will be back. Cutest place ever...

Everything is good here - I'm crazy about their scones and salads. Really good soup too and the cutest homemade mini brown breads. It gets super packed around lunch but come a little earlier or a little later and you're golden. Pretty reasonably priced, I wish it was pricier maybe I would stop pigging out on those scones (but probably not). Awesome staff, one of my favorite places to grab a bite in Glasnevin.

This was a nice little cafe. The staff was friendly, and it was honestly the best flat white I had on my trip this weekend. The bagels were amazing as well and I love the little chairs outside as well. I would definitely visit again on my next trip to Ireland!
