Restaurant: The curry with shrimp and smoked Irish salmon were excellent. Service was good too. For a hotel restaurant this was a great experience. Not the cheapest, but you pay for convenience. It's great to have this when you just want to have everything in one spot while traveling. The atmosphere is really nice to very relaxing which is needed when waiting for a layover or staying here before flying out the next day. Stay: The rooms are nice complete with central air. The beds are a bit hard but that's the only thing I think I'd change. Airport shuttle is convenient. Service was quick and easy.

Due to a strike at the French airport we ended up with a 14 hour layover so booked a room at this hotel. My only complaint is that the complimentary airport shuttle missed us two times which had us waiting in the cold for an hour. We ended up taking a taxi and the hotel reimbursed the driver. Just disappointed we had to wait so long to get some sleep. Our room was ample size, clean with multiple phone chargers. The bathroom was clean with two shower type options. The complimentary breakfast was definitely the star. I'd say this was the 2nd best breakfast I've experienced (Switzerland takes top billing). Hot items included scrambled & fried eggs, ham & bacon. Being in Ireland I expected potatoes- alas there were none. Bread, croissants, cream cheese, Brie, smoked salmon, yogurts, fresh fruit, granola & cereals also offered. You are allowed to choose one item off the special should you choose. If we'd known at the beginning we'd ordered one but were so satiated with what we had there was no room in our tummies for anything more! All in all we are pleased with our 12 hour stay here.

We stayed here our last night in Ireland before flying back home. We dropped the rental car at the airport return spot, took the rental car shuttle to the airport and then the free hotel shuttle to the Metro Hotel so we'd have a less chaotic departure the next morning. We had an apartment on the 12th floor and it was clean and comfortable with a super-long enclosed balcony that ran the entire length of the apartment. The one big quirky thing was that every door in the apartment was a fire door with a fairly strong closing mechanism. This would be a great place to put on a door-slammer farce of some sort, but was a little annoying to walk around the place with all the doors. The little quirky thing was that one bedroom had no nightstand next to the bed or anywhere in the room, but did have outlets to charge phones next to the bed...I moved a stool from the kitchen into the bedroom to create a makeshift night stand. Anyway, like I said, it was clean, comfortable and quiet. A big heads up that there is absolutely nothing nearby in terms of restaurants, coffee shops, etc. There is a bus stop right outside and lots of places are 3-5 miles away. The good news is that the restaurant in the hotel was good. Apparently you can't eat there unless you're a guest or a resident? Unusual, but they were pretty busy with that rule in place. We had a nice, relaxing dinner here. The stuffed chicken was good. How can you go wrong with chicken wrapped in bacon? The eton mess for dessert was very good was well. The meringue was crisp and the berries and cream topped it off nicely. Service was great. Our shuttle back to the airport the next morning was on time, but it does drop you off at the bus area by arrivals, so be ready for a long walk. It is a free shuttle though so can't complain!

If you need a clean place to stay that is a little outside of Dublin, I would recommend Metro Hotel Dublin Apartments. When we booked our trip for the ND v Navy game, the hotels were sold out or extremely overpriced in Dublin but I found this one that was very reasonable. Online photos were great and the apartment had 2 smaller bedrooms with full/queen beds, 2 bathrooms and a living room with a kitchen and balcony. When we showed up the photos matched real life (which is nice, since sometimes it doesn't) I only have a few complaints and recommendations to be aware of if you decided to stay here: 1. There is no air conditioning so prop your window open at night to keep fresh air circulating in your room. 2. Skip their breakfast in the morning. It wasn't great abs left a lot to be desired. Try to grab something closer to your destination for the day. On the flip side, the dinner/bar menu is pretty delicious! 3. The area isn't the safest, so I wouldn't go walking to the store at night. Try to do that during the day or bring back what you need after your long days adventures. 4. Be aware that the apartments all have many fire doors (they are heavy) the two doors to enter your apartment are fire doors. Each bedroom/ bathroom is a fire door and there is a fire door to the living area. It's a bit weird and unconventional as a visitor imo. Please note, I don't know what the hotel rooms are like, but I can assume they do not have these doors.

Before returning to the States, we stayed closer to the airport at this hotel as they offered a free shuttle to the airport. We had a total of three rooms with our group. We had to do some switcharoos due to bed count and who had two nights or one night reservation. Eventually, the front desk figured it out. We also had to make reservations for the shuttle the next morning and select a time. The room was comfortable. We didn't stay in the room much except to sleep. However, in the morning, there wasn't any hot water and we all took cold showers that morning. The front desk credited us $50 each. We didn't get to try the restaurant but other reviews looked like they enjoyed it. We didn't really experience the neighborhood so I had no concerns or thoughts about my safety. I had an extremely disappointing experience with your bus service. On 08/06/2024 the bus that was scheduled to leave at 4:30 but left at 4:29 am departed despite my explicit request to wait for just one minute I had left my family, which included a person on crutches, in front of the hotel while I quickly attended to left car in underground car park 1 I informed the driver that I would be back in one minute, but he was incredibly unhelpful and left without us,as he said he can't have delay and need follow schedule , especialy that he had nearly empty bus !!!!! and was 4 am This level of service is unacceptable. Leaving a person with limited mobility stranded with 2 small kids , especially after being informed of the situation, shows a complete lack of consideration and empathy. As a result, I will never use your service again and will advise others to do the same.

We enjoyed our stay at the Metro hotel. The only issues we experienced were with our keys not working properly, we had to go back to reception a few times to get our keys reset as they would not work in the lift or at the door. We also at dinner in the restaurant twice and the first night our waiter seemed to forget about us and after seating us didn't come back to take our order for over 40 mins. but over all we were very happy with our stay. We stayed in the apartments ( 2 bedroom on the 12th floor) and were very happy with the accommodations, we had a great view of Dublin. Even with the mishap with our first night in the restaurant, the quality of the food received in the restaurant was wonderful. We would recommend to others and a stay here again.

This hotel was pretty nice compared to most city centre hotels which are usually either super expensive or cramped with no/ limited parking. The hotel is very close to the airport of course, and close to Beaumont hospital (~10 mins drive) so I stayed here when I had exams there. Rooms: The rooms were pretty comfortable and clean and the beds were nice. However, the shower in my room was leaky and took ages to get the hot water coming. Also, there are no toiletries except a pump body and hair soap. Most hotels I've stayed in always had separate shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion supplied, and some even had shower caps so I was disappointed from that point of view. However, my room was near the elevator, which is super noisy when moving up and down which was annoying. The other rooms are right beside the roadside, so it's either be near a noisy elevator or be by the main road with the noise from cars. But besides that, I was happy with the room overall. Food: The breakfast was quite nice, they have the usual basic breakfast selection of fruit, breads, cereals, yoghurts etc. as well as cooked breakfast like scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. You can also order omelettes and things like porridge and pancakes. I also had dinner in the bar and the food was average but the service was very slow. The chef also messed up my order, but they changed it for me when I told them. Service was pretty good, the reception staff were friendly and helpful so I have no complaints here. I did notice an odd smell down the corridors and in the basement though, not sure what it was. Parking: They have 2 carparks, but only carpark 1 is connected directly to the hotel while for carpark 2 you would have to go outside and walk down the ramp. It's quite secure, but you have to get out of your car to scan the card key about twice which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, great for maybe one night so if you're heading to the airport early, but I probably would not recommend staying here if you plan on staying a while whilst site seeing Dublin as it's ~30 mins from the city centre and lacks tourist services.

This 'Airport Hotel' surprised me! Let me preface this by saying I arrived my last night in Dublin after 8 days of group tours of ancient sites all over Ireland, with a nasty cold virus close to being the flu, single woman traveler. Tired, ill, but wanting to enjoy my last day in Ireland. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left this hotel, nearly 24 hours of the BEST customer service I've seen from Ian at the front desk to Eva in the onsite restaurant and even the cleaning staff when I was missing a hair dryer. The room furnishings apparently are updated, and beautiful. Clean, nice size room for a single gal (I had an Executive room with one King bed all to myself-lots of pillows and super comfortable). I felt safe and well-cared for. The Ballymun Road location itself was not the best, but hey, it is an Airport Hotel; the Shuttle to the airport the next morning was FREE and the driver so pleasant that I tipped him. Its relatively close (I would not walk it due to locale), about 10 minutes taxi ride to Dublin Botanic Garden (also FREE!) which has a gate leading into stunning Glasnevin Cemetery (which so impressed me, I'll be writing a separate review for that!). The price was not bad for an average hotel stay of this caliber and I didn't have to pay for a cab to the airport, plus room service for both dinner & quick continental departure breakfast as I packed was a nice, well deserved treat. By the time I left for the airport, I was feeling 80% better after an awesome 10 hour night's rest. I paid about $88USD for Thurs into Fri stay which I thought was fair, but again, I am a NYC girl, so that's average price to me. Well done, Metro Hotel Dublin! Only not giving 5 stars for the location, but you got everything else right. :-)

Accommodation/Cost: (3) My friend and I stayed here for one night in an executive twin room (49 euros / night). We basically got here, checked in, and crashed for the night so my experience with the hotel is limited to the front desk, my room, and our bathroom. Our room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. They may need to change out the TVs here with flatscreens soon as to free up some room on the desks, as there was little space left with the TV taking up nearly half of the desk. The decor is simple and complementary. There is free wi-fi here, so that was a big perk. There is also a 2-euro shuttle that the Hotel provides to Dublin Airport, which is super convenient for patrons as a taxi would cost 11-14 euros. Location: (4) The drive to the Airport takes less than 10 minutes; that boosts up the location rating for me. However, there are other hotels even closer to the airport for those willing to shell out a few more euros. Service: (4) The man at the front desk was friendly when my friend and I checked in at 11pm. He also arranged a wake up call for us and a shuttle in the morning. Overall: (3.5) This hotel is a decent place to stay for those in need of some shut eye before or after their flights. Don't expect anything amazing, but you won't be let down either.
