Service was super on point. They came by several times to check up on us. The food was Ok. I really liked the Aloo Gobi. The naan was great. The tikka masala was on the sweet side so that was odd for me but I don't know if that's cause it's different state side. Overall a decent Indian experience.

Jewel in the Crown in Ballsbridge is a nice Indian restaurant. There are always a few random couples in here having dinner or sometimes a man who's just finished work nearby. Their food is good; one of the better Indian's I've tried (not my beloved Bombay Pantry though) but is as expensive as the good ones. If you sit in they give you lots of nice poppadoms with tasty chutney, spices and yogurt dips. They also give you After Eights with the bill. Yum. They do take out too.

The delicious Indian restaurant. There is a lot of indian foods menu, and reasonable price. However I was disappointed about one thing. We ordered drinks(grass of wine and beer) and 2 types curry, and then we was waiting these... 15mins later, these didn't come to my table even drinks. And finally we got the curry after 35mins or 40mins. And also we asked check, but they didn't come quickly. Everything moving so slow... Foods was good, but I got tired of waiting.

I haven't had a lot of Indian here in Dublin to compare this with, but I've spent a couple months in Hyderabad and have tried lots of good places back in the states, both cheap and fancy. Jewel in the Crown feels really solid. The menu has a great variety, there are good explanations of all the dishes so you don't have to try to remember everything just by name, and the wait staff were extremely nice and helpful on a non-busy Tuesday night. The food was solid as well. Delicious sauces, big portions, and oh so satisfying. My friend had a vindaloo dish that was definitely the spiciest thing I've eaten in Dublin and holds its own with food from my favorite places outside Ireland. (Lots of items are not spicy as well, and they're marked accurately either way.) I'll definitely be coming back here!

Business is steady at Jewel in the Crown on Shelbourne road, but never bustling. Sitting down to crisp linen and heavy cutlery in the half-filled dining room, we page through the long list of options not out of place in any of the many Indian restaurants peppered throughout Dublin. Chicken, lamb and fish dishes, mild (in hot and three-chilli fire alarm) and the sundries are all expected...crispy bahjis, spicy samosas, poppadom and chutneys or large flats of naan. Yep, all present and accounted for. The offerings are definitely good, and takeaway business is nonstop. There's never room for dessert after the first two courses, perhaps sensible when thinking of the delightful amounts of cream and butter that went into making that Lamb Pasanda.

Not the most amazing Indian I ever had, but very good and a great value! The early bird deal is a deal between 15-17€ for starter and main, where else can you get this? The portions are big and tasteful. I have tried many different dishes and never got disappointed. It's always steady busy in here, never too packed that you have to wait long to be served. Worth a try!!!

I don't know what happened last night but it was a shambles. First off we ordered our drinks. 1 of our party had to 're-order the her drink 3 seperate Times and it still took 15 minutes to be brought down. Then some of the starters were cold, not fully cooked. They were veg so it was ok. After dinner we ordered a selection of desserts, cheese cakeand chocolate cake slices. These came out frozen solid. Who does this!?!? Then when paying the bill they decided to try to charge for extra naan and extra beer which we didn't order. In fairness they gave us free shots after all this BUT my shot glass had a lovely chip on the edge and I almost sliced my top lip with it. While the mains were delish and we did get free shots it simply wasn't good enough to warrant further custom. We won't be back in a hurry.

My husband and I were meeting up for lunch one day, and were both starving! This place was pretty close to where we were, so we decided to go here. My husband eats here nearly once a week, so I figured we'd give it a shot. We took advantage of their 9.95 lunch special which includes your choice of starter, a main and side, and tea or coffee. I decided to go with the lamb samosa, and chicken tikka masala with pilau rice. The appetizers came out pretty quickly, which I was happy about as I was STARRRRVING. It came with two samosas, which wasn't a whole lot. However, when I saw how big my main was, I started questioning why I even needed a starter. The tikka masala came out, and the portion was HUGE. The rice and main came out separately, so you mixed it together on your plate. I don't eat Indian very often, so I don't know if this is normal or not, but I didn't mind mixing it myself. The food was very good, and very filling. I may or may not have actually eaten my entire meal, then regretted it when I got home because of the following food coma. The service was quick and prompt, and the amount of food you get for the price is fantastic. Can't wait for my next excuse to head there for lunch!

Pros: - delivery was really fast - holy crap the vindaloo was so spicy; I couldn't finish it because it was honestly too hot but it was very flavorful - the onion naan was delicious - complimentary mini coke Cons: - I wish the onion naan would have been larger - the samosas were a bit small and oily
