Oh what a night!! A night planned for a birthday celebration for a good friend, we decided to go all out and go somewhere a little bit "up market". We ordered off the "Early Doors Dining" menu which is available from 6 to 7.30 with excellent value at €19.50 for 2 courses or €24.50 for 3!! The flavours were amazing with tastes to suit all.....but the icing on the cake is W.O.W......Wine on Wednesdays. You get to bring your own bottle of wine and there is no corkage fee.....this is a great way to save money and still be able to eat in style!! The only down side to this is the possibility of over indulgence which ensures hangovers the next day! Definitely a must!!

I went here with my girlfriend. We had a fantastic evening. The atmosphere is good and the waiters are excellent. The food was very good, especially the steak. If you're looking for a fancy place to impress the other half this is it!

Recently refurbished, the Exchange in the Westin hotel looks like a cross between a prohibition speakeasy and a cocktail lounge on the titanic. There are 2 delicious menus to choose from boasting dishes such as marinated kalamata olives or the rilette of potted pork cheek. True five-star style. Along with a huge wine list, the cocktail menu is themed speakeasy and is fantastic. Also, take the time to admire the beautiful selection of vintage 1930's cocktail shakers behind the bar if you're a cocktail geek like me. All in all, the Exchange is NICE so expect to pay but in my opinion, the whole experience is well worth it.

Friday evening dining out is one of my favourite things to do in Dublin. There is always a great after work buzz around the city centre; with this in mind we have reserved a table at The Exchange in the Westin. This is a cocktail bar/restaurant along the New York style; that is they occupy the same space with the clear distinction being the furniture. The décor is relaxing, with plenty of light browns and creams, and an abundance of exotic flowers. The Exchange suffers from High End Hotel Avoidance, that effects so many high end hotels, take Wilde at the Westbury which offers excellent value and is virtually empty each time I go, which is a shame (go here for the early bird Yelpers!). The problem I think is people see an expensive hotel and think that the restaurants within would be equally expensive. This is not always the case....okay rant over...... The Exchange was primarily populated by those staying in the hotel, but was at least busy. The bar part was unfortunately very quiet. The review proper - I would recommend a visit, and here is why: The menu is simple, but covers off on the main staples. Bread was delivered with butter, dip and another buttery type substance which was excellent. We opted for the seafood platter and the butternut squash soup for starters, followed by the lamb cutlets and the rib eye steak. The lamb was excellent, and the steak was mediocre. As for the sides, the baby potatoes in pesto were a standout. Being stuffed after dinner, the waiter recommended the mango mousse which was excellent and a fitting finish to a very good meal. Unfortunately there was one small issue with one of the dishes, but this was quickly rectified and after being showered by apologies, we received complimentary glass of wine, followed by champagne, and a sorbet (all at no extra cost). The staff were excellent, and very friendly throughout. 4.5/5 for me!

The Exchange is part of the Westin Hotel, a five star hotel located on Westmoreland Street in Dublin. The five star atmosphere is present the moment you set foot into the place with a beautiful lobby and very welcoming staff. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with an art deco theme running through it. It is plush yet very comfortable. We went there as part of the Dine in Dublin which was fantastic value. It is more expensive generally but they do a great early bird menu which looks like great value too. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable as you would expect from a five star. They also have the 2013 National Cocktail competition on their team, Deirdre Byrne, so expectations for the cocktails were high. First off I tried the Rhubarb & Vanilla Pisco Sour. This was Rhubarb and vanilla infused Pisco, lemon juice, simple syrup, pasteurised egg white and Amargo bitters. I had never heard of Pisco before but my friend informed me that it a Peruvian spirit. The cocktail had a lovely kick and wasn't too bitter. Next up was the Queen of Hearts. This had to be the cutest cocktail I have ever come across! I am a sucker for anything that comes in a china cup so to have a cocktail served in one was fantastic. The Queen of Hearts was made with Absolut 100 vodka, St Germain elderflower liqueur, blackcurrant and hibiscus iced Jing tea. It had a unique taste and I think that is down to the Jing tea. Overall I will be back for both the early bird and to try out the Mint Bar for some more of the quirky cocktails.

The Exchange Restaurant in The Dublin Westin is fantastic! My wife and I have been there for Brunch and Dinner and we were surprisingly pleased with both. (Champagne) Brunch: If you're traveling through Europe and are sick of crappy cold breakfasts and you're in need of a warm delicious breakfast buffet, then look no further. It's fresh, eclectic, and never ending! Dinner: Want to take your date for a classy night on the town? Take her to the Exchange dinner. The wait staff is knowledgeable and worldly, the live musician will provide the perfect melody to your conversation and you'll be delighted by the food. Afterward take her to the Mint Bar for some dancing and drinks. Whatever you do that night, don't take her for a stroll through Temple Bar. Why not 5 stars? The decor does not fit. It definitely needs to be retrofitted to incorporate Auld Dublin times or the Bank theme they are going for.

I absolutely loved this place, brought my Dad for his birthday along with a family group. We went for W.O.W (Wine on Wednesdays) which was great! The atmosphere was great for a Wednesday night & the food, oh, the food! It was just so delicious, really well presented as well. I had the pea soup, gnocchi (GET THE GNOCCHI!! Butternut Squash sauce, oh yes please!) & then cheese board to finish. My brother & I were expecting a pretty hefty bill for what we all had but we were pleasantly surprised what with the early bird options. Oh and the crab cakes, actually have crab in them! Delicious crab! Definitely a fan of this place, would go back in a heart beat!

Their early bird is until 7.30 which is great. I loved every minute and bites I had there, really good food and friendly and approable staff.

A fun place with very good food. Wait staff were helpful and committed to ensuring you enjoy the experience. I had the seafood dinner special aka Catch of the Day. I selected the baked hake with salsa verde and truly enjoyed it. It comes with two sides so at €22 it's reasonable priced.
