The main church in Amalfi, and a very beautiful one - both from the outside and the inside.
Make sure to visit it both in the day time and night time, as it's beautifully lit at night which makes it much more impressive.

If you're visiting Amalfi during the summertime, there A LOT of weddings that are held in this gorgeous duomo, so that's also a nice addition if you get a chance to take part in one.

Beautiful church, solemn Sunday mass with humor from the presiding priest 😊

Decor is very grand lots of beautiful frescoes and gilt with many side altars showing St Michael, St Peter and many others.

There is also a chapel of reconciliation with many relics.

This magnificent cathedral is a must-visit in Amalfi. The current church was built in the 13th century, but there are still remains from the old church, including a fresco from 500 AD and empty sarcophaguses dating back to the 3rd century AD. The church itself had sculptures, crucifixes, and other artifacts dating back to the early 13th century. There was plenty of signs labeling exactly what I was looking at. The church had so many different areas to explore. I was able to walk through areas under the cathedral with ornate compound arches and paintings on the walls and ceilings. The actual cathedral area was incredibly impressive. The ceilings were so high and with artwork on top. It’s amazing how people were able to get up there. I also was impressed with the grand columns with different colored marble. It was a great experience exploring this unique cathedral.

It was quite nice wonderfull history and its huge you can take pictures unlike a lot of churches the people are quite nice the entrence fee is about 5euros im not sure why google thinks its free but its cheap considering the gorgeous place you get to visit
