There are some areas of the palace you can enter for free, like the beautiful park with the gardens, and some areas that you need to pay the entrance fee. We paid the entrance tickets because we wanted to see the rooms of the palace. It was 15€ well spent since it is totally worth it if you want to explore old luxurious buildings and royal furniture and lifestyle.

If you're in the mood to see something grand, then you need to visit the Royal palace of Naples. Here you'll see what they call the Royal apartments where each room in the apartment is as big as a house. The staircase alone is very grand and breathtaking.

The state rooms are lovely, but everything seems quite poorly run.

The room's descriptions/audio guides are being replaced and some were not functional. There's no WiFi to make use of the QR codes. The Hanging gardens were inaccessible due to rain, and refunds were only available through an Italian paper form submitted online. Very poor toilets. The Museo Caruso and gardens were inexplicably closed.
