Da Attilio is a well-known name in the pizza world, celebrated for its octagram-shaped star pizzas. Established in 1938, the pizzeria offers both traditional round and star-shaped pizzas. The star-shaped options are limited (I counted 4), with the star tips always filled with ricotta cheese. While the star shape is appealing, I personally feel the ricotta filling doesn’t enhance the flavor. Da Attilio is a popular spot for tourists, but it’s not a tourist trap; locals also visit regularly, especially during the off-season. A highlight is often seeing the owner, Attilio Bachette, personally preparing and serving pizzas. The pizzeria is AVPN certified (no. 72) and was named the best pizzeria in 2021 by fellow pizzaiolos. I had a few pleasant experiences dining here and would again return to try more flavors. Interestingly, I found the simplest cheese-free "Napoletana" pizza to be the most enjoyable so far. The prices are truly reasonable; the most expensive pizzas cost around 10 Euros. On the other hand, while it’s a very good pizzeria, I’ve had better pizza elsewhere, particularly when it comes to cheese quality. They rely on fior di latte instead of mozarella di bufala and unfortunately it is not possible to upgrade it. Some of the products are DOP(Denominazione di Origine Protetta)
certified. These include San Marzano tomatoes, yellow tomatoes, red grape tomatoes with needle like-tip (del Piennolo del Vesuvio) and the pecorino romano cheese.

The restaurant has an authentic worn-in relic feeling and cozy, but it is clean. Also, their service quality may vary from time to time if you do not speak Italian (because of the language barrier) but they are really nice people.

Good value for money pizza, especially excellent dough base. The proprietario himself is making the pizza for everyone to see. Prices are ridiculously low - a pizza margarita for 5 EUR.  There is a huge crowd waiting in line - we took more than our hour on a Saturday night to get in. The place is tiny (40 seats total) and a full Italian chaos - quirky, loud, lively, fun. Everybody on the waiting staff is very helpful and quick. Overall a great rustic experience, however lacking quality of the pizzas themselves (compared to overall level in Naples).

Highly recommended place on various blogs, didn’t disappoint. People were already queuing up when we got there 20 mins before opening, but it was worth the wait. Service is quick - with a quick turnaround of customers, don’t expect to sit here for a few hours! Pizza was lovely 🍕, definitely recommended for a true Napoli pizza experience.
