I read some great reviews on this restaurant when searching for places to eat focusing on the cuisine of Bologna. We headed out to find this elusive place, which we easily missed as it is in a quiet side street, with a small obscure sign. After descending the stairs, we were surprised at how large the restaurant was. We were seated next to the original wine cellar dating back to the 1400's! We ordered the Carpaccio di Salmone, Tagliatelle al Ragout Bolognese (of course), Tagliata di Manzo alla Brace, and a bottle of Montefalco Rosso for lunch. Everything was delicious and we couldn't have been happier to have eaten here. Although this restaurant is deemed four € signs, it really wasn't expensive at all. On the way out, we looked around the area of the entrance and were pleasantly surprised to see a wall of photos of all the celebrities who dined here - including Mariah Carey, Angelina Jolie, etc and a bunch of Italian celebs too!

Great quality catering for a group, I enjoyed all the dishes (inc lasagna and some sort of delicious meat I now can't remember) although others found them a bit boring/heavy. I thought it was good value for four courses with wine. We also had some great entertainment from a live singer creating a fun atmosphere. However it became uncomfortably hot in the basement space, perhaps because they'd packed so many people in (there was another group there) and that marred the enjoyment of the evening.

This place had five stars on Google Maps and I honestly have no idea how this is possible. We went there just to drink some wine before getting dinner but we did not feel comfortable at all. It is not possible to order wine by glass (which is sad because they are profiled as a wine bar and they had a huge collection of wine so I wanted to try several but this was not possible). When you finally find a wine you both like they don't have it in (which was the case for a lot of wines. Again, if you profile your restaurant on wine you should have everything in stock.) but then they would bring something similar. We ordered a white pinot griggio and got something else instead which tasted very acid and was not tasty. The waiter kept on bringing menus and kept insisting we would eat there as well, which was really annoying. They charged us 4€ pp for 'coperte' which was outrageous since we only drank some wine. Bologna is filled with beautiful winebars, do them and yourselve a favour and don't go to this place.

I ate here two times. Once, I really had a rush lunch, on my way to a meeting. Yet, service was quick and good. I had a "Tagliata di manzo", with owen potatoes as a side dish. Both were really, really tasty. The bread was good. Second time, I had a breaded bolognese cutlet with Parma ham, cheese and truffle. In the end, I think I paid a few euros more than I would have expected (compared to other places/cities) but the food was worth it.

Food was very average for Bologna. With one exception, our waitress, the service from others was curt and somewhat unfriendly.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've eaten at, and not surprising that it has good spaghetti bolognese. Amazing wine list - again not surprising given location near Tuscany. Cavernous sub-terranean interior - v. charming. A bit tricky to get too, and you will have to ignore the somewhat kitschy music including covers of 70's and 80's pop.

This was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had: the deer meat we got smelled foul! The rabbit we got was not rabbit but chicken or turkey. We told the waiter and he did not do anything , he just smiled sheepishly and asked whether we would like a dessert. We left and got that somewhere else.

Had a fine meal of salmon anti pasta, followed by a couple of pasta dishes, including a green pasta lasagna (local cuisine), followed by lamb chops. This 600 year old restaurant is in a cellar filled with wine. We found ourselves there on a rainy Sunday night when many of the local restaurants are closed. It was recommended by our hotel. I'll say it was fine but not memorable. We had had a great meal at di Ceasare the night before an this one just didn't match up. Nothing wrong with the meal so I won't say it was not good, just that it wasn't as good as many other places in Bologna.
