We went with a tour guide and she was amazing, it really helped appreciate the art and beauty around specially for someone who’s just a tourist! Amazing experience for all. All of the statues and paintings were breathtaking. Rape of persiphany for example!

Bought evening tickets on site the day before to avoid last minute 5pm queue (it looked very long). Utterly breathtaking once you reach the first floor. Groups can only enter in batches, as some of the rooms get crowded quickly. Little information is displayed, so avail of the guides if you want to learn more about the artwork.

Be advised at the time of writing this (Nov 2024) the museum was undergoing minor renovation work, so not all rooms were accessible or complete.

While the Borghese Gallery is renowned for its art collection, my visit was disappointing. The queue was thankfully short, but they require you to leave only backpacks in the wardrobe, which felt unnecessary. Inside, it was uncomfortably warm, making the experience less enjoyable. To top it off, the main attraction was partially blocked by a wall, which ruined the chance to fully appreciate it. Given the steep ticket price, I can't recommend it. Rome is filled with incredible sculptures and paintings in open spaces and churches that you can enjoy for free, making this visit feel underwhelming and overpriced.
