This was a wonderful find, a Michelin Gourmand Bib restaurant just half a block away from our Airbnb. The owner is charming and friendly, the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and the food is both delicious and ambitious (pig head and tongue is on the menu!)

We started with the bread with Sabina DOP olive oil and Aceto Balasmico Di Modena balsamic vinegar. This is by far the most devious olive oil balsamic vinegar I've tasted on this trip! I'll have to find this back home.

The meatball was great, as well. It's another antipasti I would recommend, although I prefer the potatoes over the chicory.

The Gaspacho was light and delicious, and the beef tartare was nuanced and tasty.

The Amatriciana pasta is deceptively simple, yet layered in its taste. It's a fine example of what excellent tomato-based sauce can be, and I can eat this pasta many times over. Even our waiter has a hard time to choose between this and the carbonara, popular pastas here.

Finally, the tart finishes the night off just right. Not too sweet, not too creamy or thick, just right.

Best pasta I've had so far, I had Cacio e pepe, tasted fantastic and could taste the hint of spice from the pepper.
I think it's a family business? They were friendly, I wanted a red wine and the waitress recommended one for me.
I would come back again to try the Carbonara 🙂

One of our favorite meals in Rome! The server recommended a great wine to complement our meals. We had the beef tongue, fried tripe, and lamb with mixed vegetables.

Amazing quaint, local, friendly restaurant. You have to be in the mood for tripe, liver, heart, etc. but it’s elevated. The pasta was perfect. Great service from the two guys. Super engaging and hospitable. A nice reprieve from the usual Italian food. Nice chill vibe. Check it out and you won’t be disappointed. Make sure you have the dessert. See pic. 😋 also, reasonable $$.

First we had some bread which was well baked with some delicous olive oil. Then we had pasta with chickpeasoup and pasta with lamb ragout as a primi. The staff was very nice and friendly, made some jokes with us and made us feel very welcome. They also procided excellent advice when deciding which wine to take. As a secondi we had mixed lamb, again very good. Sometimes uou can feel that you are eating organs, but that was definietly NOT the case in this restaurant. It was good and very tasty. Same for the meat stew. Mostly meat only a few pieces of fat. All in all a very enjoyable experience.
