Fantastic dining experience! I love all the dishes that we ordered.  Especially for the squid and the tomato soup with Mackerels . Wonderful work!

First, some logistics. I travelled 30 minutes on taxi from the downtown. Make sure to use the FreeNow app for taxis. Uber doesn’t actually work (it will just leave you waiting for a driver and waste your time.

I was able to figure out the taxi situation just in time and I arrived for my meal.

Now let’s get to the food. The food was good. Very interesting. They put some fancy twists on each dish. It tasted very high end. Amazing prices.

What I liked most was not the food necessarily. I loved the ambiance. I was the only non-Italian. Mid-meal, people would stand up from their table, grab a glass of wine and go stand outside while they awaited their next course.

I got to see what a real Italian meal looked like.

Let me be clear: the food was great. It was really fresh, and tasted super healthy.

It wasn’t quite what I was expecting. For example, the pasta was covered in lentils — I’d never had such a combination before. Overall, they gave me some very new things to try.

But… it was expertly done. I had a great meal. This isn’t something I would eat every day, it wasn’t comfort food. But the food was very interesting.

Overall, I liked the vibe. And the wine they served me was stupendous. So tasty and smooth. I ordered 3 separate courses and desert for myself on top of that, plus two glasses of wine, and bread. I was expecting a huge bill. I was so shocked when it was only 60 euros. If you saw how much food I ate you would be shocked too.

Overall: if you are staying in the tourist downtown but have multiple hours to spare and want a real, authentic, unique experience, I would definitely come here. But this is not a quick in-and-out dinner. Be prepared to enjoy yourself and take your time.

A bit outside of the touristic center but definitely worth the hike.  WOW.

Portions were generous, prices were good, flavours were unexpected and amazing.

We tried octopus and liver appetizers.  The liver might be the best cuisson I have ever had on a liver steak.  Deep, crusty caramelization on the exterior, and the interior was juicy and meaty, no chalkiness, no grittiness, just goodness.

For primi we had a lentil and hand cut noodle stew with strong star anise and herb flavoring that just knocked our socks off. WOW.  Also tried a long pasta (cannot recall name) with tomato sauce, which was very good, and a barley in a pumpkin sauce with Smokey paprika which was just phenomenal.

For second we had a nicely cooked pork rib with a Smokey paprika sauce and magret de canard which was very nicely cooked.

Dessert was a tiramisu where the lady finger component was dense and moist like a rhum ball, and an interesting peach cake.

The wine selection was quite varied with very reasonable prices.

The restaurant itself had a family diner feel to it, and the staff and owner were really nice, attentive and helpful.

Hoping this place is still around for next Italia adventure

Wonderful dining experience. Food was  very tasty and sophisticated. Good selection of natural wines. Price was fair for the quality. Will definitely go back.

Amazing food and service. The gazpacho and duck breast were incredible and Michelangelo was very helpful and courteous. Highly recommend this place
