Disarmonia e asimmetrica, piazza Margana si fa ammirare da quei pochi viandanti che l'attraversano per raggiungere o piazza Venezia o il ghetto o la Via del mare e hanno l'ardire di spostarvi per più di qualche minuto per respirare l'aura medioevale.
Sì perché il luogo e gli spazi che la compongono conservano il tratto caratteristico dei secoli in cui la vita scorreva lentamente tra il vociare delle genti e il gran daffare dei primi mercanti.
Il caseggiato dei Margani con la torre inglobata, un portale arricchito con uno splendido fregio, dei frammenti marmorei raffiguranti un aquila e un motivo floreale, una colonna con capitello ionico incassato nella facciata, attira lo sguardo di chiunque abbia la curiosità di osservare oltre il guardare ed il vedere ed offre ai viandanti la meraviglia della conservazione di un mondo ormai trascorso.
È ora di lasciare la piazza alla solitudine che la contraddistingue non prima di aver ammirato gli altri palazzi che la chiudono nella perfezione architettonica.

Una delle poche piazze a conservare l'aspetto di oltre un secolo fa. Il palazzo con l'omonima torre che troneggia è solo uno dei tanti che si affacciano in questo posto molto raccolto e non di passaggio. È il soggetto di un noto pittore straniero che si innamorò di questi vicoli. Un pannello invita i visitatori a rispettare il luogo anche se la movida che lo caratterizza difficilmente lo rende ascoltato. Bella la passeggiata verso il lungotevere. One of the few squares to retain the appearance of over a century ago. The building with the tower of the same name that dominates is just one of the many that overlook this very intimate and non-passing place. Piazza Margana (Rione X – Campitelli) è una delle perle del centro storico di Roma, dove sembra che il tempo si sia fermato, infatti tutti i palazzi che vi si affacciano sono “datati”, dando l'idea di essere tornati indietro nel tempo.

La impreziosisce l’edificio dei Margani (che fa da quinta di scena), con alla destra l’omonima e suggestiva torre (mozza) in laterizio è del XIV secolo, con aggiunte nei secoli successivi, attualmente sono visibili tre piani, sono altresì presenti vari pregevoli frammenti architettonici romani (ad esempio uno raffigura un’aquila) e soprattutto un troncone di una antica colonna, con relativo capitello.

Ecco gli altri edifici presenti:

1)	Al n. 19 il palazzo Maccarani Odescalchi del XVI secolo, inizialmente di proprietà della famiglia dei Maccarani e poi acquistato dagli Odescalchi. Dato il recente restauro, l’edificio appare maestoso e molto bello.

2)	Al n. 24 il Palazzetto Velli Cardelli del XV secolo, di tre piani, inizialmente di proprietà della famiglia Velli e successivamente fu acquistato dai Cardelli, il portale è bugnato si presenta abbastanza semplice e ha alcune finestre murate.

3)	Al n. 32 il Palazzetto Capocci del XV secolo, dell’omonima nobile famiglia di origine viterbese.

4)	Al n. 34-36 il Palazzetto Albertoni del XVI secolo che fu di proprietà della nobile famiglia romana, costruito su un precedente palazzo del XV secolo, con un bel portale bugnato al n. 34 sovrastato da una finestra con inferriate dove al di sopra si trova lo stemma degli Albertoni.

5)	Al n. 37 un piccolo Palazzetto, dove è presente una pregevole edicola sacra ed una targa dove è scritto quanto segue:

6)	Nella Piazza sono presenti vari locali, fra i quali appunto l’Antica Osteria Angelino.

Una visita assolutamente da fare.

It is embellished by the Margani building (which acts as a backdrop), with on the right the suggestive brick tower of the same name (mozza), it is from the 14th century, with additions in the following centuries, currently three floors are visible, there are also various valuable Roman architectural fragments (for example one depicts an eagle) and above all a section of an ancient column, with relative capital.

Here are the other buildings present:

1) At n. 19 the 16th century Maccarani Odescalchi palace, initially owned by the Maccarani family and then purchased by the Odescalchi family. Given the recent restoration, the building appears majestic and very beautiful.

2) At n. 24 the Velli Cardelli Palace from the 15th century, with three floors, initially owned by the Velli family and subsequently purchased by the Cardelli family, the portal is ashlar, quite simple and has some walled-up windows.

3) At n. 32 the 15th century Palazzetto Capocci, of the homonymous noble family of Viterbo origin.

4) At n. 34-36 the 16th century Palazzetto Albertoni which was owned by the noble Roman family, built on a previous 15th century palace, with a beautiful ashlar portal at no. 34 surmounted by a window with railings where the Albertoni coat of arms is located above.

5) At n. 37 a small building, where there is a valuable sacred shrine and a plaque where the following is written:

O cazare care lasă mult de dorit. Am avut cazare trei nopți și am stat doar două. Asta pentru ca nu am găsit altceva decât în ultima noapte. Fără căldură, fără o aerisire, fără un geam cât de mic, fără apa calda și un pat extrem de incomod totul comdimentat cu un zgomot infernal de la un motor ce era chiar în dreptul patului și miros de mucegai. O grota efectiv! Singurul lucru bun este locul unde este amplasata aceasta camera. Scorul mare pe care îl avea aceasta locație este incorect. Raportul calitate preț este incorect.

An accommodation that leaves a lot to be desired. We had a three night stay and only stayed two. That's because I didn't find anything but the last night. No heat, no ventilation, no small window, no hot water and an extremely uncomfortable bed, all accompanied by an infernal noise from an engine that was right next to the bed and the smell of mold. A real grotto! The only good thing is where this room is located. The high score this location had is incorrect. The quality-price ratio is incorrect.
