Our experience at this hotel was far from what one would expect from a 4-star establishment. The staff lacked professionalism, and the overall service fell short of the promised standard.

To start, we were initially given the wrong room, which seemed to be under maintenance, as there was a set of stairs left in the room. We asked the staff for basic amenities like toothpaste, toothbrushes, and slippers, which were missing. Instead of providing them, they informed us that the room was incorrect and that we would need to move all our luggage to another room.

The new room also lacked the same essentials. When we asked again, the staff first brought us water instead of the requested items. After further clarification, they finally provided toothbrushes and toothpaste but still no slippers. Despite staying for four nights, we were left without slippers and had to walk barefoot around the room and bathroom. When we raised this with the staff, their response was dismissive, saying, "Yes, sorry, but you have to go barefoot because we don’t have slippers."

The room itself was uncomfortable and poorly ventilated. The temperature could not be controlled from the room, so every time we needed an adjustment, we had to call the reception. There was no air circulation, forcing us to keep the balcony door open just to get some fresh air.

I don’t know who is responsible for awarding these stars to hotels, but I’m sure it was done a long time ago or by mistake. Personally, I would give this hotel 2 stars instead of 4, with 1 star solely for its convenient location.

We booked the Golden tulip for a business trip with my partner. First thoughts was the location was amazing. The staff were professional  but non engaging. The  first experience we had was the elevator. Old and broke down twice in a three day stay. We entered the room that was nothing like the photos on the booking.com platform. The walls were dirty and the room lacked basics like iron and shampoos and body soap. They had one type of soap for everything. The bed was old and mattress was uncomfortable.

We had breakfast included. Wow it was terrible to say the least.  We are in Rome and  Italy . Coffee was from a machine and the orange juice was concentrated syrup. Tomatoes and cakes looked old. This is terrible for over 140 euros a night.

I have not had such a bad experience in a hotel ever. I usually go around Europe to see what others do in their holiday accommodation business so we have a good standard for our airbnbs and I must say I should invite Golden tulip to stay in our apartments.

People pay their hard earned money, you should respect this.

Not happy with experience. - our room was very small and not worth the price.  Our washroom was overflowing, it’s not possible to take shower. It’s unfair to address it as 4 star property. This hotel only charges for location. Hotel wifi is pathetic and as a tourist wi-fi is the basic need. Elevators are too old. A big NO. Don’t waste your money here, you can find multiple hotels on same street.

The hotel in very well situated , near Termini station, 20 mins walking from colosseum and all attractions are close. However, if u are going to pay 120€/night for the location : you will find better hotels . Rooms are very old, beds very uncomfortable and pillows horrible . Maybe where  unlucky but in our room bathroom door & window did not close .

The worst service. There isn't any caring employee here, no one cares for your comfort here. It doesn't worth the price👎
We checked whether there are toothbrushes, toothpastes and slippers, and they assured that they will provide. They brought only the toothbrushes and toothpastes only after many times calling to them and asking. They apologized for the slippers and assured it will be after 2 days, but of course they didn't keep their promise and we have to spend our 4 days without even slippers.

The breakfast options are too small as well.
