This cat sanctuary in Rome is one amazing shelter for rescued cats. I really love the way they look after and nurture all their cats.  I remember when I was in Rome Italy back in May 2024, I stumbled upon this place and took a tour of all the cats in there. Very nice and friendly cute cats. As a cat lover and owner myself, I support these kind of organisations as they are for protecting all cats. There is even a mini gift shop inside the sanctuary. I bought myself a cat themed soft fabric fridge magnet as shown in one of my pictures posted. Honestly, it is the best number 1 souvenir I ever purchased in all my international travels. Anyone taking a trip to Rome Italy and is a cat lover, you should definitely visit this cute sanctuary.

If you love Roman ruins and you love cats this is a must visit when you travel to Italy. This is a second chance home for street cats. A place they can receive the best care and love possible. The amazing women who are dedicated to looking after these beautiful cats are truly angels. This cat sanctuary runs on the donations of the patrons that come to see the cats. Please make sure to give back once you have had the opportunity to visit with these resilient kitties. Thank you to the woman who provide the care these cats need. Just an fyi all the cats are adorable but Eddie was our favourite 😍

This place is the best. They trap neuter and release feral cats in Rome and I think the lady said they have done 8000 in a year. What a difference this will have made to prevent so many living dangerous lives of suffering.

The sanctuary itself is based in an archaeological site, which is worth a visit in itself, but the stars of the show are the cats of course. They take in disabled cats who are not able to handle street life anymore. The volunteers tell you about the individual cats circumstances and then you can spend time with them and give them attention which they seemed to enjoy a lot. It goes without saying the cats are the sweetest.

I got asked to leave after some time because other people wanted to come in but I could have stayed for longer.

They did not ask or push for donations from me but I wanted to leave one so I just enquired of the lady if u could, as I believe thy don’t get funding from elsewhere and the work they do is so important.

This is a very uplifting place and well worth a visit on a trip to Rome.

What a beautifully run VOLUNTEER organization doing extremely important work in managing the stray cat population. A lovely lady talked about how many cats they help each year, and gave us a brief tour of the interior. My own cat is from a feral colony so I was overjoyed to see so many happy healthy relaxed cats being taken care of.

The 1 star reviews do not match my experience at all.
Keep in mind others also want to visit the cats and this is in no way a petting zoo and you’ll love it.
Happily bought a shirt too
