Beautiful hotel and the location is perfect, but there are some issues.

The first one is that it is not private and peaceful as advertised. People (not the guests) go in and out all the time without being questioned. Meanwhile as a guest, if you arrive by taxi, you have to provide name and room number. The hotel hosts private parties and it gets really loud, especially at night.

The second issue is that it prioritizes locals over the guests. Breakfast room was too crowded. Locals were seated close to the main table while the hotel guests all the way back. We made a reservation on Thanksgiving Day at the restaurant. We get there at 2 and our table was not ready and the host/waiter came with placemats and wanted us to have lunch in the waiting area, in a sofa and coffee table. The behavior was not acceptable from a 5 star hotel and the whole experience was unpleasant. We ended up going to the Beef Bar, way more professional and friendly than the restaurant. One of the managers/staff tried to apologize but again, the treatment received was not acceptable.

Most of the staff were professional but I would avoid going to the restaurant. They should receive more training on hospitality from Hotel Lungarno, Florence who offers a better stay and experience.

There are many 'designed' hotels around the globe, and many look alike or eerily familiar. This hotel is an exception:  it's design is beyond exquisite, the food is outstanding, the architecture absolutely magical....and then there is the service: flawless!
Bonan is a design genius. And the location could not be more convenient.

My husband and I stayed at Portrait Milano for three nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. We had romantic, high-quality nights in an amazing room. The service was incredible, and the staff was extremely friendly. The location is perfect, with a beautiful entrance that sets the tone for the entire stay. Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of experiencing the breakfast service at this luxurious 5-star hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The food was exceptional, with a wide variety of high-quality options, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious.
A special thank you goes to Aida, who provided outstanding service with such professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. She truly made my breakfast experience even more enjoyable, the passage of the moka trolley was fantastic, especially the zabaione, panettone, and moka all together. It was an unforgettable experience.
My gratitude also extends to the entire breakfast team for their dedication and impeccable service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking excellence in every detail.

Although this place opened just two years ago, it has already become a sort of magnet in the city, famous for its openness to people and creative spirit. This year, the courtyard once again showcases the most stunning Christmas decorations in Milan, with the addition of three charming pop-up stores in the middle. Here, you can sip champagne, shop for Christmas panettone, sweets, Ferragamo-inspired cakes, and the best ever gifts—books.

If that’s not enough, step into the restaurant, which has unveiled a new room decorated in red and full of festive cheer. Maybe you want to add the handmade finest chocolates and a hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and marshmallows? This truly is a Christmas paradise (better than anything I’ve seen in Milan)
