I had the most wonderful experience at I Castagni with friends and family for a birthday celebration. Luisa is the most gracious host and makes you feel at home, and she was beyond kind to allow our table to stay past midnight for us to celebrate the true birthday in the comfort of the dining room. And the food - the shrimp and calamari antipasti & the squid ink ravioli - was unlike anything I've tasted. Truly delicate, flavorful, and thoughtful. One of one in my books for both service and dishes.

We went to celebrate a birthday. On a Thursday evening, we were the only guests dining. We got the best table looking into the private garden. Service was very attentive. We ordered the "Menu degustazione", we loved the beef Carpaccio, the risotto, and the Burgundy Premier Cru which paired quite well with all the food coming.

I have been three times, in the last 6/7 years, to this restaurant of my native town, and I really appreciate its refined, but never pretentious, cuisine. I chose a menu "all fish" this time, made of five courses, and everthing was excellent: I especially liked the delicious appetizer "fried shrimps and squids". The previous times I had chosen some typical menus of the Lomellina zone, composed mainly of goose or pork meat, with the same good results in taste; besides, consider that the quantity of food in the plate is enough for the reasonably glutton customer. Good job as always, Enrico!

Ho avuto il piacere di pranzare al Ristorante I Castagni a Vigevano, e anche se nessun piatto ha suscitato l’effetto “wow”, tutto era ben preparato, con ingredienti di qualità e una presentazione curata.

Ciò che mi ha colpito davvero è stata l’ospitalità. Nonostante fossimo gli unici clienti della giornata, il ristorante ha deciso di aprire esclusivamente per noi, un gesto che dimostra grande attenzione e rispetto per i propri ospiti. Avendo anche io un ristorante a Milano (Sato Sushi Experience), so bene cosa significhi una scelta del genere, e per questo il massimo dei voti è più che meritato.

Durante il pranzo, siamo stati serviti direttamente dalla proprietaria, una persona di rara gentilezza che ci ha fatto sentire davvero accolti e a nostro agio.

L’ambiente è raffinato e rilassante, ideale per un’esperienza culinaria intima e speciale. Consiglio di provare I Castagni almeno una volta, per vivere un pranzo o una cena dove l’ospitalità supera ogni aspettativa.

I had the pleasure of having lunch at the I Castagni restaurant in Vigevano, and although no dish evoked the "wow" effect, everything was well prepared, with quality ingredients and a careful presentation.

What really struck me was the hospitality. Even though we were the only customers of the day, the restaurant decided to open exclusively for us, a gesture that demonstrates great attention and respect for its guests. Having also had a restaurant in Milan (Sato Sushi Experience), I know well what such a choice means, and for this reason the top marks are more than deserved.

During lunch, we were served directly by the owner, a person of rare kindness who made us feel truly welcomed and at ease.

The environment is refined and relaxing, ideal for an intimate and special culinary experience. I recommend trying I Castagni at least once, to experience a lunch or dinner where the hospitality exceeds all expectations.
