I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Cuncheddi in Sardinia! The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel's location is ideal, with easy access to several beautiful beaches (a short drive) that make for a perfect beach getaway. What truly stood out was their commitment to providing outstanding vegan meals. Every dish was delicious, but the vegan croissants were a standout—they were, without a doubt, the best I've ever had! If you’re looking for a welcoming place with great food and an unbeatable location, Hotel Cuncheddi is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Just recently stayed at Hotel CalaCuncheddi and absolutely loved it there. the service is top notch and the food was impeccable. The accommodations are beautiful and well taken care of. Also the front desk are the most helpful people you will ever find. Lastly were the servers, in the short time we stayed there, they were friendly and hospitable and really made you feel great to be there. I can't wait to go back in the fitter again. Definitely the highlight of my Italian trip.

So relaxing and a great place to stay outside Olbia.  Food and drink is just charged by room number so no need to bring money or credit cards around with you.  Always plenty of chairs at the pool and beach.  The water was so clear the entrance of the beach is a little rocky so bring water shoes.  The room we got upgraded to was 507 it was a walk out patio on first floor. Which was next to a public parking lot so sitting outside enjoying the view you see people coming and going to the beach.  It would be great if they put up a better privacy fence or wall. That honestly is my only complaint and it's minor because we only used the patio once as we were always at the pool or beach.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the pool restaurant at Hotel Cala Cuncheddi on Sardinia island, Italy. We had a very good lunch there with superb views and great service.

Early October 2023.

This hotel was a disappointment for us and we travel often. The hotel to me felt like bad value for money and like it's marketed as being upmarket when it's not anywhere near that level in reality. That's just my opinion but I travel often from luxury to upmarket boutique to budget.

We booked a sea view room but were given one with no sea view from the room. Our balcony was facing the opposite direction and we had to walk down it to get a tiny glimpse of the sea if you strained your neck. By hospitality standards, we paid for a sea view but this sea view room was barely the standard of partial sea view. The rooms looked cheap with plastic furniture and no better than budget hotel chains. We were given another room that was even smaller but had a slightly better partial sea view. Everything else was booked out. The service felt very lackadaisical and like they found what happened normal/acceptable. No apology was offered.

The beach wasn't nice by Sardinian standards at all. Courser sand than nearby fluffy sand, dark choppy water unlike the little coves around Olbia. We found that this location was windier than nearby coves and beaches. That could have merely been that day, but it was extremely windy at the private beach at the hotel yet just a 5 minute drive away is Porto Istana beach where the water was calm and tranquil and there was no wind.

The hotel is also in the middle of nowhere and it's a one hour hike or a taxi to a decent beach.

Oh and the food at the restaurant was really bad and there are no local alternatives without having to get a taxi.

The spa was ok but book in advance. It gets booked out very quickly.

The good:
-The foyer was beautiful and had a jazz musician playing one evening.
-The breakfast was excellent.
-The pool was nice.
-This is one of the few hotels in the proximity of Porto Istana.

Response to hotel: there are no previous reviews from this account/from me for this hotel. Extremely poor experience. Perhaps as a hotel you should strive not to give customers less than what they pay for. When customers are given a downgrade, they have every right to leave an honest review - no need for the bad attitude. And despite your claims of increased satisfaction, a good few reviews from well seasoned luxury travellers say otherwise... Oh and the food from the restaurant was some of the worst I've ever eaten.
