My husband and I had a really nice time here. The staff were welcoming and took care of everything we asked of them.

If you’re looking for a super modern hotel, this place isn’t for you - but it doesn’t advertise itself as that. This hotel is unique, eclectic and full of character. With various different activities to enjoy throughout your stay, you’ll always have something to do, or not - pick your own adventure :)

The rooms and facilities are not brand new, but they are clean and have an artistic touch. The restaurant is not gourmet, but traditional and homey. We really loved the cocktail bar in the evening for sunset. All and all, we enjoyed our stay and believe you get what you’re advertised.

We had a dinner in the vegetable garden which was truely amazing. The beautiful setting in combination with the outstanding food and service really made our evening. The entire premises look like a piece of art and it is an experience in itself to visit it. The host even took time to set up a romantic and private spot on the terrace for a romantic proposal. Thanks Chris and crew for the unforgettable evening!

Me and my girlfriend have come to this place specifically for the restaurant.
The meal was good but nothing special. Maybe just wrong choice. I enjoyed the appetiser - the Sardinian specialties. Though the other two courses were quite average.
Also, it is a huge restaurant which was packed and it felt a bit hectic. Moreover, we were also seated very close to a large fireplace where they prepare the meat. So possibly request a specific seating as they had nice seating with a great view on the mountains on their outside terrace.

We really enjoyed our 4 nights and felt instantly relaxed in its rustic setting with stunning Sardinian art and gardens. There were so many special pockets around the property to enjoy a peaceful moment. We had 4 delicious dinners, 2 in the main restaurant, one in the divine vegetable garden and also a great night at the bread nest. I also enjoyed a very relaxing massage & facial. We loved the unpretentious feel throughout the whole place and will definitely return. The only slight improvement I can think of is that the in ground pool is in need of a little bit of work to its surface however we still enjoyed the pool and pool area very much.

If you like provincial art, spirituality, historical folk museums and pork, then this hotel is for you. It wasn’t for us.

Built around one of the original restaurants in Sardinia, Su Gologone celebrates Sardinian tradition and cuisine - this it does very well.

However on top of that, layer an eclectic array of provincial art and multicoloured textiles by the current owner adorning every surface, and you have a gaudy array of styles that resemble bric a brac shop more than gallery.

Layer on top of that the “experience” hotel element - an overwhelming number of activities you can do inside the hotel and out (you’re presented with a theme-park-esque map on arrival.) For sure it’s an incredible endeavour to help you experience (and pay exorbitantly for) what Sardinia has to offer, though if you’re looking to relax and unwind, it won’t be here.

Finally the facilities. While there are many of them, they’re dated and rough around the edges. In our room for example the toilet seat was broken, the fridge had to be unplugged for a quiet night, and there was only one set of lights, meaning we had to sit in super brightness or complete dark… impossible for bedtime reading.

Guests around us seemed to love the place though, exclaiming how surprising the hotel is, while sipping a €16 cocktail on a €150 “art” cushion and being smooth talked by the owner’s family who were clearly fishing for compliments.

Personally though, we wish we’d just stayed for dinner.
