The kitchen greeting a trio with fish, chips and kracker with mayonnaise was tasty and made lust to more. The first course including the mixed salad and the "Don't Call Me Caprese" salad were delicious. But honestly the mixed salad was pretty boring and the tomato not yet ripe - while the "Don't Call Me Caprese" salad was an exciting variation on the classic Caprese salad. The combination of fresh ingredients and creative flavor combinations in this dish was a testament to the attention to detail and dedication of the kitchen team.

The main course, pistachio pasta with tuna tartare, was a real treat. The pasta was cooked al dente and topped with a rich sauce of pistachios and finely tuned tuna tartare. The "fish symphony" presented in the form of a pizza was a unique and creative way. Each bite is an explosion of flavor that delighted the senses. Oregano, tomato, bread crumbs, fish - I loved it.

Family run place. Amazing staff and food. Don't miss out on this place. They were open and delivered on both food and service even though they ere catering local food festival at the same time.

Best meal we had in Sicily! Food was fresh, sophisticated but not fussy, subtle and creative while traditional.
Attentive service and the chef came out to greet us at the end. They were very careful with my gluten sensitivity, even adapting the appetizer so I could have it. Chef was happy to explain some of the dishes I asked about to make at home.

A must to dine here! Service was the most friendly we had while in Castallammare. They recommended Zagara: la pasta del Marinaio and we loved it. The pistachio on the pasta was a nice touch along with having a small dot (can’t remember what it was exactly) to eat to finish off the dish. The Cous cous di pesce alla nostrana was the best fish cous cous I had in Sicily. The sauce they make really elevates the dish.

Mirko is indeed the must-go restaurant restaurant in Castellammare. A creative and well-accomplished step up from traditional Sicilian food while keeping and respecting the "memory", with generous portions and the much welcome charm that only Sicilian hosts can have. What an amazing experience!

We over-ordered and had to skip dessert (next time). Our arancino al polpo and the pizzette with tuna were delicious and a revelation. Both the carbonara alla crema di cozze and the risotto were superbly cooked and served.

Their wine list is extensive and our host gave us a mini lecture in Sicilian wine. We drank a lovely, mineral-ey organic Inzolia that was not only really good but also reasonably priced.

Cat-lovers will also love Mirko because the much-loved resident kitty - Pinuzza - is a real character. You'll also get to meet Schizzo and Silvestro, who - by the way - are very polite and would not disturb you.
