One of the most beautiful mountains and parks we have ever visited. To stand directly on the result of Mother Nature's fury really puts a lot in perspective. We went with a guide which is recommended due to the sheer size of the park and mountain. A car would be ideal for sightseeing as the scenic routes by motor vehicle are beautiful. It is recommended to dress appropriately depending on the season, elevation and range you will visit

Fantastic place in short and must visit if you are in Sicily. Rope way costs 50eur perperson and bus ride with guide for a small hike cost 19eur separately- which is absolutely worth. The landscape is amazing. Only advise is to reach early morning by 9am - to avoid the crowd.

hands down the best thing to do when you’re in sicily, especially catania. we got our tour on airbnb, and we had equipment, transportation and the guide included in 50-55 euros per person. we did some ash skiing and it was the best thing ever. i recommend to go as it is a magical place, feels like a completely another planet and place. we even saw a small explosion, as you can see in the videos

Very steep climb in some places, 90 mins steady climb from cable car base to top, then you can catch a bus from there or walk but after that you must have a guide to go to the very top. Take a good pair of boots and the ash rock gravel will eat away very quickly at your boots as you walk. Very abrasive. As of 10/2024 €8 all day parking, €50 cable car €9 bus to max altitude with no guide.

Nice place to view te mountain Etna.
Could drive up till 1900 meter!
Very expensive to use cable car(min 50 per person up till 85 incl the 5km  walk) but walking at the base station will bring you also some spectacular views! In many cases, even taking the most expensive travel incl 5km walk would not bring you to the active caldera.
Just walk to these lower calderas and enjoy !
Taking some lavastone samples out of Italy is permitted.
