We had a lovely stay here. The buildings and grounds are very well maintained, the service was friendly and very helpful, and the food (breakfast and dinner) was all local, fresh and delicious. Both my wife and I enjoyed a massage at the on-site spa which was great, especially for the price. My only critique is that the Superior room was slightly small for a family of 3, but we would absolutely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed in one of the cottages by the airfield for three nights and loved it. Cozy, rustic luxury. The whole property features charming gardens and an attractive pool grotto - many places to enjoy reading, quiet chatting, and a refreshing beverage. The restaurant was top top top - we loved the steak and tuna, especially. The black pork ragout is worth a try, too! The staff was nice as can be, and as many have said- the breakfast is delicious. We'll come back someday, and highly recommend this place to everyone.

My room was in the main building (old part)Room had mold in bathroom and worms. Service to properly clean it was difficult to get addressed. Beds were thin mattress on boards. While the grounds were beautiful. This is not by any means a five star hotel. It’s rating should be 3 star that is why the price is reasonable.

Our “cottage” was rudimentary and had nothing of the feeling of a country inn. It faced an airstrip and required a not inconsiderable trek to the main building. Breakfast was basic (included packaged sliced bread!). We were also disappointed with the service or lack thereof. Would not recommend.

It is an old monastery converted into a hotel, owned by the Nifosi family, an aristocratic family, since the 18th century and who appear to still live there. The historic rooms are comfortable but do not expect mod cons. Breakfast is very good with a wide range of continental selection, cereals, scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. Dinner is Italian a la carte with a full selection of courses. Service is run by a small team and is absolutely first class. In all, it is essentially a stay in a historic site (complete with its own necropolis) which dates back to an Arab fortress and then served as a stopping off point for the Knights of St. John on the way to Malta.
