The dine in the kitchen experience with wine pairing is incredible here! Chef Bianca really champions local produce, and honour traditions without being boring, often introducing inspiration from other cuisine but never veering too far from the Sicilian culture and land that she loves. The service was attentive but not suffocating, they’re always happy to answer any questions if you’re keen to hear more about each dish. It felt more like an exchange of experience (some dishes reminded me of my own upbringing in Asia), and less of a transactional meal.

I dined at *Materia | Spazio Cucina* in the Habitat Hotel for dinner. I ordered the onion and mushroom soup. The waitress picked up I wasn’t a fan and suggested I switch to the baked pumpkin, which was a great call—it was a huge improvement! The service was excellent, and the restaurant itself has a cosy and intimate vibe

Breakfast the next morning was another highlight—so many options, from fresh fruits to pastries, all beautifully laid out. It felt like a little Sicilian feast to start the day. Definitely worth it if you're staying here.

Many will say that the restaurant is not with local authenticity but we absolutely love it. The most complicated thing was to find the entrance:) In the end we found the right bell to ring. You'll get greeted inside by the manager and the chef (really lovely and warm people).
The only thing to blame is that there are 3 types of tasting menu but the whole table can choose just one type... So we went for a Sicilian tasting menu (70 euro), an absolute delight. All courses were pretty artistically presented, explained and some of them (the obergine and the pork belly) just blew our minds.
At the end we realised that we were the only guest for the evening, so there were no delays with the service.
Absolutely satisfying experience, recommend to everyone!!

The restaurant is more for foreigners and tourists. It is very difficult to evaluate this restaurant as a whole. It definitely needs to be said that if you found this restaurant through the Michelin guide, you might be as disappointed as we were. The restaurant is part of the hotel. At the time we are in Catania, the competition for such restaurants is not very high. The food is rather average, I appreciate the locality of the ingredients, but the prices of the meals are a bit too high for what you get. There aren't many guests here, you are likely to be alone or in a maximum of three couples. The service is pleasant, but she didn't explain how many dishes we should order. I cross my fingers for them, but I think time will sort it out for them in the end.
