If you’re looking for an upscale traditional Italian restaurant, this place is it. The atmosphere is beautiful, warm and inviting. I had the pumpkin ravioli and the eggplant parmigiana, both were the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend making reservations. This was one of my favorite meals of our stay.

The 'senatore capelli' spaghetti, while having a very strong cheese flavor, is definitely for those who appreciate a bold taste. The homemade tordelli was delightful, with a well-balanced flavor that left a lasting impression.

A standout dish was the tagliata di manzo, which I highly recommend. It was perfectly seasoned with oil, pepper, and a hint of rosemary, making it a must-try for anyone visiting. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with a few standout dishes that cater to different palates.

One of the very, very best restaurants in Lucca. Michelin quality in all regards with large portions. Price to quality ratio is excellent. Reservations are a must. Don’t miss this jewel of an exquisite experience.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Tuscany and on our third night in the nearby area we were recommend this amazing restaurant by our hotelier. We had no booking, we turned up at 9.30pm and they accommodated us graciously and served food that blew us away. The atmosphere was incredible, the servers were helpful, knowledgeable, attentive. The little touches really were so special, I’m not going to give you any spoilers you simply will have to go and experience Antica Locanda di sesto. image our surprise when the bill was half what we had paid the evening before in Lucca. We returned every evening to the whole team greeting us like friends. Our only disappointment is we couldn’t visit on the Saturday as it was closed!! We had to SLUM it back in Lucca where everything became a comparison to ‘our lovely place’ imagine my husband bemoaning that the waitress in Lucca served him a beverage WITHOUT ice and lemon separately with a little silver tong. I happy food danced through every course, every evening and think I had an out of body experience eating the tiramisu (which I don’t usually like) I ate the whole thing without even offering my husband a taste. Then looked at him as if he ate it because I was so disappointed it was gone!
