La Chiesetta dedicata a Sant'Apollonia, si trova in località Sirmiano. Ci si può arrivare in auto oppure a piedi dalle tante località intorno attraverso il bosco, ad esempio da Grissiano dopo circa 40 minuti di bella camminata nel bosco. Per imboccare il sentiero in salita (ripida ma corto e solo a piedi) che porta alla Chiesetta, bisogna entrare nel cortile del ristorante. La Chiesetta è stata eretta intorno al 12.secolo. Non è molto decorata ma comunque molto particolare e merita una visita. Anche perchè poi ci si ferma al ristorante sottostante !

The small church dedicated to Sant'Apollonia is located in Sirmiano. You can get there by car or on foot from the many places around through the woods, for example from Grissiano after about 40 minutes of nice walking in the woods. To take the uphill path (steep but short and only on foot) that leads to the church, you need to enter the courtyard of the restaurant. The church was built around the 12th century. It is not very decorated but still very particular and worth a visit. Also because then you stop at the restaurant below!

La chiesetta di S. Apollonia si trova a Sirmiano, a circa 1.000 m di altezza. E' un angolo che merita una visita per la tranqullità, la natura avvolgente e la storia antica che emerge ovunque.
Santa Apollonia di Alessandria viene raffigurata con in mano una tenaglia, in quanto, secondo la tradizione, durante il martirio le furono strappati i denti e oggi viene venerata come patrona dei dentisti e invocata per il mal di denti.
Vi si arriva percorrendo per circa 5 km la stradina che parte nei pressi della chiesa di Nalles in direzione Sirmiano. Possibilità di parcheggio all'altezza del ristorante Apollonia. Un primo cartello mi ha indirizzato subito verso la giusta direzione, poi ho provato un attimo di perplessità, in quanto il percorso attraversa in pieno la proprietà dell'albergo Apollonia, per scoprire infine che proprio presso l'albergo si possono richiedere le chiavi per visitare l'interno della chiesetta.
Oltre l'albergo il sentiero prosegue abbastanza ripido, interamente lastricato in pietra e ombreggiato da rigogliosi cespugli termofili.
In dieci minuti si raggiunge la cima della collina, da cui si gode una splendida vista a 360 gradi: dalle Venoste alle Passirie alle Dolomiti al Macaion. Notevole il portale in pietra della chiesetta.

The small church of S. Apollonia is located in Sirmiano, at around 1,000 m above sea level. It is a corner that deserves a visit for the tranquility, the enveloping nature and the ancient history that emerges everywhere.
Saint Apollonia of Alexandria is depicted holding pincers in her hand, as, according to tradition, her teeth were pulled out during her martyrdom and today she is venerated as the patron saint of dentists and invoked for toothaches.
You can get there by following the small road for about 5 km that starts near the church of Nalles in the direction of Sirmiano. Possibility of parking near the Apollonia restaurant. A first sign immediately directed me in the right direction, then I felt a moment of perplexity, as the route completely crosses the property of the Apollonia hotel, to finally discover that right at the hotel you can request the keys to visit the interior of the church.
Beyond the hotel the path continues quite steeply, entirely paved in stone and shaded by lush thermophilic bushes.
In ten minutes you reach the top of the hill, from which you can enjoy a splendid 360 degree view: from the Venoste to the Passirie to the Dolomites to the Macaion. The stone portal of the church is noteworthy.
