Our 5th return trip (ski in Feb). This time during carnival week, which we would not repeat due to the slopes being too busy. Our room was the smallest we'd ever had, again probably due to carnival week.

Maitre d' Paolo and his team are to be recommended for excellent service. Beatrice in particular was super.

Pros: ski in-out..... but note that the return slope 54 ends in a very nasty red wall.

Food is excellent.

Spa is great (but the swimming pool was cold; given that only children >12 are allowed in the pool, they could turn the heating up, especially in the jacuzzis).

Mini Club is well run and excellent value.

Cons: the return piste 54; beautiful blue run until you reach this narrow wall just before the hotel, which catches many skiers out, and really needs improving. Many people take skis off, or avoid by walking up the road from Fortini. It's such a shame for beginner skiers to have to face it, especially as it's the only way to return to the hotel by ski.

Great location at track 54, can do ski in, ski out. The buffet food was always excellent and couple of evenings amazing. Relaxed atmosphere, family and kids friendly. Many common spaces in the lobby and bar to socialise. Further - pool, sauna, games room.

A really great hotel located just outside the centre of Madonna. Truly ski-in, ski-out (the easiest we've had in a ski resort), great spa facilities and super friendly guys working there. Parking doesn't cost the earth either, and the ski rental place inside the hotel is excellent. Oh, and the Wi-Fi was the best we've experienced in the area. Letdowns were breakfast, which was very very limited in its offering, and the lack of a usable shuttle service - it ran hourly, needed booking in advance, and finished at 1930 so wasn't really useful.

Food is cheap. Accommodation on New Years Eve cost us more than 900 euros per room for 2+2. The room and hotel amenities are very basic.

The breakfast was absolutely horrible. We were  offered powdered eggs and bacon, yogourt and flakes. If you want boiled eggs you have to boil them yourself. Fried eggs cost extra money. No veggies at all, just some fruit. Fruit juices are from carton. Coffee is decent though, after all it is Italy. Breakfast is the major disappointment at this hotel.

For kids club you have to pay 30 euros per kid per day. Expensive and very very basic.

It would have been a complete disappointment if not for friendly and helpful staff .

Very nice hotel in a wonderful location. Perfect for sky lovers. Amazing just for winter relax as well. Very clean. The kids entertainment is 7/7 all day long. Meals included. Friendly and professional staff.
