We chose Villa la Massa for our 3 night Florence stop in Italy, thinking it could be a nice break after our day trips in the busy city. It was perfect for just that purpose, and beyond our expectations in every aspect. The grounds were spectacular, with beautiful greenery and gardens in all directions, next to the Arno river, fruit & bird filled trees and lovely buildings. The service was respectful and warm, the staff were all astute and attentive to every request we had. They generously triple-upgraded us to a beautiful, spacious suite in a villa across from the main building that felt like home, so clean and luxurious. Their breakfast was fulsome and quality in food and service alike. Would highly, highly recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat, conveniently close (15 minute drive) to Florence centre. The shuttle was another generous upgrade service that was included, and while I'd rate the seating and time options as a 4/5 (only up to 8pm, with a sometimes full van that got "cozy", it was a clean Mercedes van, and think it's unfair to take away from the hotel's score on that account, as the fact that it has this service included is a 6/5 compared to any other hotel. The only people I would not recommend this hotel to, are those who prefer a crowded, high-energy hotel lobby scene. It was very, very quiet, even at the bar in the evening, although this could be seasonal (we went end of October 2024), and perfect for us after a busy touristic visit in the city each day. A special thank you to the staff and manager for making our stay so special. Would recommend for all occasions, from a special event, to an upscale regular lodging stay.

Came here as part of an event and I must say that this hotel is stunning. Located just 20 minutes away from Florence, this hotel provides a really nice and romantic atmosphere. Food that was presented was also quite good.

The team at the hotel was efficient and very friendly, made us feel very welcome. The gardens, view of the river and decor of the property was really nice.

If you're on a tour of Tuscany, this hotel is a must stop. Although it's not at the city centre, they offer a complimentary shuttle service to town, which will give you a chance to visit the city.

My husband and I visited Villa La Massa for our 10 year anniversary and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience! We when arrived we received a very warm and personal welcome from the concierge. At the time our luggage had not made it to Florence however the hotel staff was eager to help us. They called the Florence airport on our behalf to help us locate and retrieve it. Throughout our entire stay, we felt the staff truly cared about their guests.

The hotel room was absolutely beautiful and offered breathing taking views of the Tuscan countryside. Several nights we enjoyed live piano music on the restaurant patio. Villa La Massa was truly a magical experience. We look forward to coming back one day!!

I can’t say enough great things about this charming hotel! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was quiet, romantic and so charming. The views were stunning, the grounds were beautiful, the food was great. We loved every single thing from our adorable room to the kind and helpful staff. It was a convenient shuttle ride to the city, which was so great and we utilized it everyday. Would highly recommend this place!

We absolutely LOVED Villa la Massa! We stayed here for part of our honeymoon trip and it was amazing! The entire staff is so kind and treated us with so much respect. They upgraded us to one of the best rooms since it was our honeymoon and it was so nice and comfortable!

The views from the Villa are amazing and it has everything you would need. We particularly loved the restaurant and went there nearly every night for dinner! The shuttle to and from Florence was so convenient and we also loved the pool! On the day it rained, we spent the entire day in the spa and it was so relaxing!

Our favorite experience was doing the pasta cooking class with Chef Lorenzo! He was so incredibly kind and fun to cook with. The best part is that after the class, we came back to the restaurant and he prepared all the pastas we made with classic Italian sauces. He even made a special dessert for us and we will never forget this unique experience.

Villa la Massa was an absolute dream come true and we cannot speak more highly of the property and the staff! It was the best part of our Italy Honeymoon. We cannot recommend this place enough and certainly will be back!
