Can I give this 10 stars?  What an experience this place was!  I loved everything about this place, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience.  The location is absolutely gorgeous, on a hillside with incredible views.  Quaint, spacious rooms, fantastic amenities and cute little touches to make you feel welcome.  The space for the meals is stunning and the breakfast was delightful.  They have 5-6 home made jams at breakfast that I am still dreaming about.  We did the wine tour and 4 course lunch.  Lavinia was our guide for the wine tour and she was absolutely wonderful - I loved how informative she was and overall a fantastic tour guide. The lunch was an absolutely incredible experience, I have never experienced a Michelin star restaurant before but this was absolutely terrific.  The food was so delicate, fresh and delicious.  We started with an egg over cheese fondue with a truffle on top - sounds weird but it was so delicious.  Second course was a lasagna that was so different and unique - it was amazing.  Third course was a suis vide sirloin that was out of this world.  Also - the wine "tasting" of the Baracchi family wines - is actually 4 FULL glasses of wine, which were all amazing.  Needless to say a nap was in order after that meal.  We ate in the casual dining restaurant one night - that was very nice as well.  The staff is absolutely wonderful.  We didn't use the spa services, but we sat at the spa A LOT, our room was luckily right off the spa, so we could just walk right out and get into the water - it was truly lovely.

This is a tough review for me - I absolutely understand if people rate it a 5, but I'd rate it lower. Here's my summary:

Positives:
- Amazing Michelin star restaurant. It's expensive (expect $200/person) but everything was very good
- service was great without exception
- Indoor/outdoor pool at spa
- views

Negatives:
- awful beds and sheets, the worst I had in 4 stops in Italy, woke up sore every day
- there is no way to stay active here - no gym (which I didn't expect) but you also can't walk anywhere. The main walking path is 300m long, anything else is a narrow country road with no shoulders that isn't super safe with cars on them
- rooms are loud, we heard workers behind our place whenever they were walking past

If you don't care about staying active and want the views and a nice meal, it's a great place. But it's more of a 1-day stay place IMO. If I went back to Cortona, not sure I'd choose here again.

This was our second visit to Il Falconiere, and they did not disappoint - exceptional in every way. Dinner was a once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. Breakfast is wonderful, and we enjoyed the pool and spa. Be sure to make reservations for dinner, lunch and wine tasting well before you arrive. We will most definitely return.

Amazing. Stayed here as part of our honeymoon road trip through Greece and Italy in August 2023 and this was one of the favorite parts of the trip! Restaurant is fantastic, scenery was peaceful and beautiful, great location for day trips throughout Tuscany. Close to Cortona for some evening dinner + drinks in the city itself, highly recommended!
