A famous address that this time did not really excite with the dishes served. Nothing wrong, but given the elevated prices in comparison to other outstanding Florentine trattorie and osterie, the meal was very forgettable.
Very good: the lasagna.
Good service by the young waitstaff.

The Trattoria is the second Cibrèo restaurant we try (they have three different types) and we are again more than happy with our decision. It's a great example of local cuisine with different daily options, surprising and making the choice even harder. Both times we visited we tried different dishes and we were happy with our choice. I'd recommend the succulent tartar, the cold veal tripe salad (surprising and tasty), and the pesto lasagna from the main menu. If there are pork liver with lemon and veal with tuna sause in the daily menu, do try them! Ask for the pear cheesecake from the desserts. It's not on the menu but if they have it, it's great - refreshing, not too sweet but with memorable pear taste. The service is very attentive, patient and friendly. We didn't have reservations but the place is small so it's a good idea to call in advance. The prices are reasonable and perfect for the quality, food, authentic atmosphere and service we got.

Amongst all the meals we had in Florence, there were definitely better restaurants that were also recommended by Michelin Bib Gourmand, but provided a much better dining experience. For the price point, I think this place lags behind quite a fair bit.

With Cibreo, menu offering is limited, space is a little old and squeezy, and it's much more traditional than innovative. If you're looking for a "historical" spot, this could be it; sadly I don't like to mix my museums and food places.

Lasagna was good, and probably the only memorable thing we ordered. The meatballs were average and somewhat underwhelming. Service was sufficient but not anything beyond basic. Overall good but not great.

Mediocre quality food.   I could not finish the fish special.  The salami of the day was okay.  The house wine was good.  The service was okay.  No way this should be considered a 4 star place.  I think Michelin and The Fork focus on ambiance more than food quality and service.  I would not recommend going out of the way to go to this place.

The pumpkin soup was good.  The rest was mediocre.

By mistake I got into the restaurant not the trattoria. Once seated the friendly staff told me and they were super attentive and let me eat the trattoria menu on the restaurant next door. I have to say it was one of the greatest (if not the one) foods I’ve eaten in Firenze, and let’s say Italy.

First I got the Minestrone with red rice. I got surprised by this soup. Super fresh vegetables and savory broth, just like eating at a Tuscan nonna’s kitchen.

For the main course the staff recommended the Spezzatino di Vitello con patate (which was not on the menu) and it was perfect. Super soft veal stew with a creamy and savory sauce of potato and olives. Simply amazing.

For dessert I got the panna cota with caramel which wasn’t amazing but still pretty nice.

Aside, the staff were super attentive and caring.

Hoping to come back to Firenze soon to eat at this place again!
