THIS IS A TRUE STORY BUT THIS HOTEL NEVER ADMITS THE FACT.

This hotel absolutely ruined our trip. We stayed here on the 2nd and 3rd days of our Florence trip, and from the moment we arrived, the nightmare began.

At check-in, the receptionist let out a huge sigh and gave me a grumpy look. None of the staff even bothered to greet us, and they all seemed pretty unprofessional.

Our room was right above the reception, and the location was terrible. The windows were completely covered by shutters, making it nearly impossible to see outside. And for some weird reason, they let us check in before the official time.

We left our luggage in the room, went out, and didn’t come back until nighttime. But to our shock, someone had sneaked into our room, and my mother’s luggage zipper was opened!

I immediately called the reception and complained that our luggage had been messed with, but that grumpy guy just came to check the room and never even apologized. Instead, he made some excuse about a housekeeper making the bed—without informing us beforehand! So disrespectful and shady.

Later, we went out again to do some shopping at a supermarket. When we got back, that arrogant man had the audacity to say, “So, nothing was actually stolen, right?”Even if nothing was missing, someone entered our room without permission and touched our belongings. The lack of professionalism, responsibility, and basic human decency at this hotel.

The shower pressure was too weak, like using a watering can. Impossible to wash properly.
As for breakfast, the same boring menu every day. The worst was the fruit soaked in syrup for ages, with zero freshness. On top of that, the balsamic vinegar and olive oil were almost empty, yet no one replaced them. Pure laziness.

Without our request, a guy from the bar showed up at our room all of sudden just to explain how to use the electric kettle—as if we were clueless Southeast Asian tourists.
It was beyond insulting.

Seriously, learn from Japanese hospitality. No professionalism, no respect and no flexibility.

How can I recommend this hotel and even give one star?

I will keep claiming our disasters:)

What a great hotel! Our room had two floors and two bathrooms and was beautifully appointed throughout. Staff were excellent and went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was mediocre, but we loved the tough of personalisation on our morning coffee. Great value for a luxurious experience.

This hotel was lovely! The location was very close to everything (15 minutes at most). The complimentary breakfast buffet was lovely with so many different options. The staff was very kind and helpful, especially Alice in the front! The room was spacious and clean. Would definitely come back if I visit Florence again!

My experience at Hotel Berchielli was extremely disappointing, especially regarding how they handled my car. When I handed over my vehicle for valet parking, they never informed me that it wouldn't be parked at the hotel. Only after checking my GPS and seeing that my car was being driven outside the city of Florence for about an hour did I realize something was wrong.

When I complained at the reception, they made a call, and the driver immediately parked the car in an open lot about 5.5 km away from the hotel—as soon as he realized I was tracking it. The staff then told me they would bring it back later and park it in the hotel’s garage, but I refused. I demanded my keys immediately, as I did not want anyone else driving my car again.

This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional for a hotel that claims to offer quality service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values honesty and integrity!

Was pleasantly surprised with the beauty of the room: from the carpeting design to the ceramics in the bathroom (#403). The table lamps are well thought out and beautifully designed (3 functions). There are various details here and there that are beautiful and well designed. Bravo for this 4-star hotel that is designed like a 5-star for me at least.
