First and foremost, 5 stars for staff Carmini who is very sweet and outstanding! Second, the food is absolutely amazing! 3rd the location is great. Although they are expensive but everything is perfect so we wouldn’t mind paying! Must visit when in Florence!

Super lunch spot. Excellent service. Top food. They served us a surprise amusement bouche of fresh tomatoes with the local bread. We followed that with fresh ravioli and the salad Irene with buffalo mozzarella.

Sat on the patio and had breakfast. Very overpriced for what we got. Pancakes and eggs Benedict with salmon, two coffee’s. €65

I have been to Irene’s many times. I have been every time I have visited Florence. I would go as far to say it was one of my favourite restaurants in the world up until this visit. I ordered my usual, the lasagne. The quality was not as good as my previous visits but I also found a hair in my food half way through eating. I was asked if I wanted another lasagne or something else, I chose spaghetti in a tomato sauce as I have tried that before and loved it. Again, when it arrived it was not up to its usual quality. I left half of it. The service was also not up to its usual excellent standards, some staff members were friendly but others I felt were inattentive and ignorant. I am very very disappointed by this visit. I have recommended this restaurant to friends for years and the dining experience is usually  fantastic. But this time around it was one of the worst and the most disappointing dining experiences I have had. It’s such a shame as I always look forward to visiting Irene’s but I’m doubtful I will return. €53 for just myself for a bitterly disappointing visit.

We were looking for a late afternoon glass of wine and stopped into Irene.  It is connected to the Hotel Savoy and is a very upscale spot on the piazza with great service, but the prices (because it is connected to the Savoy!) seem much higher than other good options for a drink in the area.
