A cute little Canadian cafe located very close to Santa Croce. They serve American diner style food and coffee. And if you’re lucky, you’ll get to meet adorable little Travis, one of the staff’s dachshund. Coffee was amazing and so was the food. Highly recommend, specially if you want to get some American diner experience.

During our recent visit, we were so impressed with our brunch experience that we returned the very next day.
The atmosphere at Le Vespe Cafe is delightful, making guests feel as though they’re visiting friends. The cozy interior and friendly staff contribute to a welcoming environment that exceeded our expectations. A special highlight of our visits was our waitress, Eva, who was clever, beautiful, funny, knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, enhancing our overall experience.

My friend Peter and I were looking for a good spot to enjoy an easy meal for our last food in Florence. He happened upon this place and I’m so glad he did. La Vespe is a wonderful and pleasant mix of familiar food and a vintage/relaxed cafe atmosphere. The servers are all very attentive and whether you ask your server or any of the others walking by they are always willing to help you with a smile.

Water was served as soon as we sat down which was a huge plus and a welcome convenience. For those looking to budget then I can honestly say you can skip the specialty drinks and just get the complimentary water but I would recommend trying their juices because they are all freshly squeezed or mixed!

Amanda was our server and she was extremely efficient and kind. The food came exactly as requested and the service was very fast! I needed a couple things throughout my dining and my requests were always met without hesitation. The dog Travis was a plus for animal lovers, he’s nestled in a little corner of the cafe near the bar. I don’t know if his full name is Travis BARKER but give. The aesthetic of the cafe that is what he now is in my head permanently.

Overall, I would absolutely put this on my list of places to go if you’re in need of a familiar and homely spot, especially for Americans. Bravo, La Vespe! We will be back!

I wouldn’t have chosen an American food place in Italy but the kids wanted eggs and pancakes so my wife took us to this place . We were 7 and they didn’t have a table for us so we split it 3 groups . 6 people ordered food and I choose to have a cappuccino but the server wasn’t happy with it . She wanted me to sit on a bench away from my family . What would u have done with one seat .?? Put a stranger next to my kids .
The food was mediocre and coffee was below average . The menu does offer  plenty of options and if you missing American food ( big portions) and service ( big smile with an attitude ) this might be the place .  The American server does less than zero effort to assist people .

All the 1 star reviews are about their incompetent staff but still owner chooses  to react to them emotionally instead of replying professionally.

Edit - Proving my earlier my point , the server was rude again when my friend returned with  the kids . Also check the camera ( if you have one) before calling your customers liars. If your staff can’t process a simple order , you don’t get to snap at your customers . When they got a chance for service recovery  , they  reacted poorly again and made sure the customer never returns.
