This was the best clam pasta I’ve ever had! I’m usually not a big fan of seafood, but I finished the entire bowl—it was that good!

The restaurant is tucked away in a small alley, truly a hidden gem. My family ordered the seafood fish soup, which was huge and packed with fresh seafood flavors. I also added a side of tuna potato mash, which was quite nice as well.

The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, making the experience even better. And for the first time on our trip, we got to try Italian limoncello—a perfect way to end the meal!

Every dish we tried was superb. Very fresh and nicely cooked seafood. Aroma, texture, flavor - everything was top notch food wise.

But the staff was just terrible. Terrible. No greetings, no smile. They were slow, lost and confused, couldn’t remember what we ordered. We also had to ask them several times to change our table (we made a booking, but were seated right next to the entrance door (on a cold winter day) even though there were numerous free tables deeper into the restaurant).

The food was truly splendid, but with this level of hospitality I can’t recommend this place to anyone unfortunately.

The manager and chef at this store are amazing! We had found this restaurant by chance last night. We randomly ordered off the menu and they ended up being the best tasting meal we had in Italy. The seafood is extraordinarily fresh. The squid is supple. The shrimps in the grilled plate were sweet and succulent. The porcini on the campagnola pizza was full of flavor. We cancelled our dinner reservations made elsewhere a month ago so we could eat here again tonight. The manager surprisingly could remember our exact order from the night before and made some even better tasting recommendations. He was so attentive and kind. This restaurant is highly recommended!

I went to a few highly-rated restaurants in Firenze and Milano during the last days, but this one is my favorite. Principe del Mare specializes in seafood, and the execution of their dish was absolutely impeccable. The taste was great and they were very generous with the amount of seafood in the dish, which shows the quality of the restaurant.
For a dessert, I took tiramisù - great, not too sweet. Light and tasty. Exactly what I would expect from it.
They have a wide choice of wines and can find a perfect match to your dish.
Definitely recommend and willing to come back when visiting Firenze again!
