Staying at Palazzo Stern was the best decision my partner and I made for our trip to Italy. The staff, specifically Sabina, were kind and helpful, giving invaluable insider tips based on their experience as people living in Venice themselves. Sabina was keen and passionate about suggesting walking routes and interesting things to see based on the kind of travellers we are, as well as going to trouble securing restaurant and excursion bookings for us. I genuinely appreciate her, Rani, at the breakfast service (a delicious and ample breakfast, they managed to cater wonderfully to my vegan requirements) and the skipper of the private water taxi. Every staff member we encountered here was helpful and friendly. We hope to stay here again and we were genuinely sad to leave. Also, the views over the Grand Canal are unforgettable.

From the moment I arrived, I was enchanted by the hotel’s architecture and charming atmosphere.

The location is perfect—situated along the Grand Canal, it offers easy access to all the major attractions while still providing a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets of Venice. The view from our room was simply breathtaking, especially at sunset.

I want to give a special shoutout to Bjordi and Gabriele at the reception. They both provided us with fantastic support  tips and recommendations even by booking some of our activities that truly enhanced our experience. Their professionalism , friendly demeanor and local insights made us feel right at home!

We arrived late in the evening due to a plane delay. It was foggy and quiet kind of a neat beginning for our time in Venice. The hotel Stern has many positives that I appreciated from the pre planning to the actual stay.
(Travel Group 4 adults one child 2 Rooms)

1. Communication is key for me and is essential for a successful travel day. I emailed the the hotel for many reasons, transfer to the hotel, a trip to Murano, even simple tourists questions and each email was answered very positively and quickly. I appreciated how knowledgable and professional each engagement was either in email or in person.

2. Location is perfect outside of a vaporetto station, near shopping, best quiet gondola ride ever, restaurants, and the beautiful back canals. The hotel&#39;s location is not located in heavy tourists locations so you can retreat back to the quietness and beauty of the Grand Canal and this amazing hotel.

3. The size of the hotel truly lends itself to a very comforting landing after a long day on the canals, coming in from a train or plane ride. With a full service bar and very welcoming lounge you can find yourself relaxing for a mid day break or a nice dinner by the Grand Canal.

4. Rooms are CLEAN and come with a piece of chocolate and nice review of the days weather ahead.

5. Breakfast is OUTSTANDING-The best we have had on our European travels. It is made fresh to your order. You do not have to stand in lines at a buffet while people hover over their decision to create their plate. This breakfast is ordered and brought fresh to your table and it is very, very, good.

6. For Kids- Our 12 yr old really enjoyed the hotel, she liked having space in her own area of the room and liked how close the hotel was to the Grand Canal.

In Conclusion;
If you are looking for a hotel that is guest friendly, pays very close attention to your specific needs, with clean spacious rooms than look no further than the Stern. With a great breakfast and super friendly staff this is truly a gift on the Grand Canal. O by the way if the airline loses your luggage the hotel will work with the airport to assist you and let me tell you miracles do happen.

Spectacular location on the Grand Canal but in a really interesting authentic local neighborhood. Front desk staff could not be more helpful and made our sightseeing easy and terrific. Restaurant staff friendly and very helpful. Only complaint was the rooms were not on a par with everything else, especially air conditioning and TV.

Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars on room is we were put in an accessible room on the first floor. Hotel right on water but no view. Easy to get to everything.
