One of the least probable places where to have a superb food experience is 3 mins from Venice railway station, on the main (only?) route that tourists take every day.

I'll ask you to trust me on this one and go to Dal Mas, one of my very favorite places in Venice to have a pastry.

Their selection is very, very wide. Almost everything they sell is extremely typical of the territory. Quality is very high and the place very clean despite the constant flow of both tourists and locals.

A must stop for me every time I have the pleasure to be back in Venice.

Be warned that they don't have chairs but just a couple of tall, small bar tables.

Good coffee and even better pastries is what you can expect from Dal Mas. They are a tough act to follow on the island as I think they're probably one of the best. They're only a few minutes away from the Train station. I highly recommend you stop here at least once if you go to Venice.

We had quick coffee and pastry at here yesterday. The choices of pastry are in decent price (€2 in general). Cannot try many but those we tasted were already as small bites between meals 😋

Excellent pastries and coffee, though I had breakfast included in my hotel the pastries were so very poor I would come here for a cornetto and cappuccino to start my day. Best pistachio cornettos I tried in Venezia and I went to 5 different Pasticcerias. This one located on a busy street was filled with locals at varying hours of the day, service was efficient and wonderful. Very pleasant people and even though I speak little Italian I found everyone to be helpful and welcoming. The tramezzino are so tasty also, priced a little higher than other places but they were worth it, incredibly delicious bread and whole olives with the tuna not just slices!

Very very friendly people.

If you want to feel and enjoy the local venice people treatment you should visit this excellent cafe. All of the staff working here deserve big high five and big star.

The prices are local price and far away from tourists prices.

You eat while standing no chairs to sit.
