Dinner to round off a pleasant day in Vicenza walking in the footsteps of Palladio. Difficult to comment on the plates proposed by a starred chef. I therefore place myself as a simple customer who evaluates them according to his own taste. High quality of food served, very captivating presentation of dishes. Professional staff. The view directly on the Palladian palace is splendid, too bad it rained abundantly. An observation comes to me regarding the table. Upon arrival, and obviously the choices of the owner are not discussed, it would have made us feel expected and welcome guests if there had been something on the table. A completely empty table, as it could be when the restaurant is closed. I had also specifically requested via email a candle to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was not there, nor there was the slightest hint of it. Too bad to get lost in the details. We were though offered some treats to finish off the dinner. We had already had the dessert, without candles, and moreover with a decidedly disproportionate quality / quantity price ratio (€ 15). Among the sweets, one in particular attracted me for the proposed contrast of foie gras covered with chocolate, slightly savoury. Perhaps interesting at the end of the meal, but unfortunately it overlapped strongly with the delicacy of the dessert just tasted. We thus ended the experience of this dinner in Vicenza with little satisfaction.

Had a lovely evening at Matteo Grandi yesterday. Many exiting dishes and great flavours. We had a stunning view to the basilica from our table ❤️

Visited Vicenza with my mother for her 74th birthday. She used to live in Vicenza and wanted to have dinner in the plaza for her birthday, coming back to Vicenza again has been on her bucket list for years and this was her first time back in Italy since she lived there almost 45 years ago. We came to this restaurant and were happy to get to celebrate her day. My mother picked this restaurant because it had outdoor seating open to the plaza, where she used to spend her time. Put in an order for drinks while we were waiting for the time dinner orders could start. Our waitress, a young girl with light brown/dirty blond hair and a nose ring,  took our order, then ignored our table. About 25 minutes passed and I informed her that we had put in our drink order almost 25 minutes earlier, I thought maybe she had forgotten or something. She said apologized and repeated our drink order back to us. Then proceeded to go back inside, chat with coworkers, come out check on the people next to us, and bring another table their drinks that had been there for far less time than us. Another 15 minutes went by of us being ignored before we got up to leave. We passed the waitress on the way out and she did not say anything to us, even though it was clear we were leaving. Then proceeded to take our table to make a bigger table for the table next to us. I was appalled by the service, wish I knew the waitresses name because she should be fired. The worst part is by the time we left the only places with availability in the plaza were only serving drinks and appetizers. Our family was starving so we had to just have appetizers and by the time it was all done it was getting too late and cold outside for my mom to even want to eat outside anymore. Any place with indoor seating had a wait and we had a train to catch so ended up not eating until we got back to Venice around 10pm at night. It was an awful way for a server to treat an elderly woman on her birthday and not something any of us are likely to forget soon.

We have not eaten in this restaurant so my review is not about the quality of the food.
We booked a table three months in advance and planned our trip around this restaurant visit, including hotel in Vicenza. One week before our planned visit we receive an email from the restaurant stating that they are fully booked. I replied that this is unacceptable but have so far not gotten any response.
This is very unprofessional from a Michelin star restaurant.

Turn in the Michelin star... service was almost non existent during our meal,  no offers for refills (would have liked another bottle of wine). Appetizers were good.  Steaks were all very overcooked,  but since nobody bothered to ask about the food,  wasn't able to send them back.  Dessert was offered,  but waiter didn't bother to ask for beverage orders (again).  Only some guests were offered coffee and it took twenty minutes to finally get someone to bring us a check.  Overall food quality and taste were average,  service was just not there.
