Mijn ervaring met dit kantoor was teleurstellend.

Via mijn rechtsbijstandverzekeraar werd mijn zaak (over problemen met een nieuwe badkamer) aan dit kantoor uitbesteed. In plaats van open en geïnteresseerd mijn zaak te behandelen is er voor mijn gevoel - ik kan het namelijk niet bewijzen - zonder schaamte alles aan gedaan om vooral geen hulp te hoeven bieden en de zaak zo snel mogelijk te kunnen sluiten.

De behandelaar vond (en ik vermoed dus zocht naar) een zwakheid in mijn zaak die volgens haar zou maken dat de zaak kansloos was. Vervolgens is alleen dáár nog op gefocust in de juridische “analyse” en na het toesturen daarvan werd de zaak alvast gesloten. Toen ik Tekst & Commentaar toezond van de wet waarmee ik om de oren ben geslagen en die anders aangaf dan de behandelaar had geconcludeerd en daar vervolgens vragen over stelde, weigerde de behandelaar daarop in te gaan. Ik moest maar een second opinion aanvragen bij mijn verzekeraar als ik het niet eens was met haar standpunt.

Na contact met mijn rechtsbijstandverzekeraar werd de zaak overgedragen aan een ander kantoor. Dit kantoor ziet wel degelijk juridische mogelijkheden en is van mening dat het door De Haan geleverde werk ondermaats is: als de door de behandelaar gevonden zwakheid al een zwakheid te noemen is, dan is deze zwakheid in mijn geval een gepasseerd station en dus niet meer relevant voor de mogelijkheden in de zaak.

Ik heb over dit alles een klacht ingediend bij De Haan, maar helaas heb ik daar 4 weken later nog geen reactie op gehad. Dit terwijl in het eigen klachtenbeleid toch echt staat dat men binnen 4 weken zal reageren..

De handelwijze van De Haan heeft in mijn zaak in ieder geval voor vertraging gezorgd en ook de kans op een (praktische) oplossing voor de problemen in mijn badkamer kleiner gemaakt. In ieder geval heeft de handelswijze van De Haan die weg daarnaartoe bemoeilijkt.

Voor degenen die hier via hun rechtsbijstandverzekeraar terecht komen: laat je niet zomaar afschepen!

My experience with this office was disappointing.

My case (about problems with a new bathroom) was outsourced to this office through my legal expenses insurer. Instead of handling my case openly and with interest, I feel - because I cannot prove it - that everything was done without shame to avoid having to offer help and to close the case as quickly as possible.

The practitioner found (and I suspect looked for) a weakness in my case that, according to her, would make the case hopeless. Subsequently, only that was focused on in the legal “analysis” and after this was sent, the case was closed. When I sent the Text & Commentary of the law with which I was bombarded and which indicated differently than the practitioner had concluded and subsequently asked questions about it, the practitioner refused to respond. I should request a second opinion from my insurer if I disagreed with her position.

After contacting my legal expenses insurer, the case was transferred to another office. This office does see legal possibilities and is of the opinion that the work provided by De Haan is substandard: if the weakness found by the practitioner can be called a weakness, then in my case this weakness is a passed issue and therefore no longer relevant for the possibilities in the case.

I submitted a complaint to De Haan about all of this, but unfortunately I have not received a response 4 weeks later. This while their own complaints policy actually states that they will respond within 4 weeks.

In any case, De Haan's actions have caused delays in my case and also reduced the chance of a (practical) solution to the problems in my bathroom. In any case, De Haan's actions have made that path more difficult.

For those who come here through their legal expenses insurer: don't let yourself be fobbed off!

Zeldzaam slechte ervaring met De Haan advocaten. Ik kreeg via DAS een advocaat bij dit kantoor toegewezen omdat DAS een bepaalde expertise zelf niet had en die zouden ze bij De Haan wel hebben en ze hadden er prijsafspraken mee zodat het binnen mijn dekking van mijn rechtsbijstandverzekering zou vallen. Nou, dat van die prijsafspraken snap ik wel. Eerste de beste troela die waarschijnlijk op haar rug liggend een rechten bul gehaald heeft. Hoewel ik om een KortGeding procedure vroeg heeft het 2 maanden gekost om deze "advocaat" duidelijk te maken dat ze eens voor de klant op moest komen en stoppen met nutteloze en ongevraagde briefjes te versturen, bizar doorgeslagen uurtje-factuurtje systeem. Uiteindelijk samenwerking gestopt, nooit meer De Haan voor mij, wat een prutsmedewerker, maar goed, dat is persoonlijke mening, op andere vlakken zal ze vast heel goed zijn...

Rare bad experience with De Haan lawyers. I was assigned a lawyer at this office through DAS because DAS did not have a certain expertise itself and they did have it at De Haan and they had price agreements with it so that it would fall within my legal expenses insurance coverage. Well, I understand about those price agreements. First of all, the best guy who probably got a law degree while lying on her back. Although I requested a summary proceeding, it took 2 months to make it clear to this "lawyer" that she had to stand up for the customer and stop sending useless and unsolicited notes, a bizarre hour-invoice system. Ultimately the collaboration stopped, never again De Haan for me, what a rubbish employee, but hey, that's a personal opinion, she must be very good in other areas...

Met name de zeer gebrekkige communicatie over de verwachtte kosten stuiten me tegen de borst. Meerdere malen heb ik om een begroting gevraagd in de behandeling van een dossier. Deze heb ik pas na verloop van tijd (en dus ook inspanning) gekregen. De begroting werd op 11-2 gegeven. Bleek dat dat was VANAF de middag van 11-2. Want voor die tijd was er ook tijd geïnvesteerd die niet werd genoemd. En dat terwijl ik vroeg om een begroting VOORAF.

Vervolgens heb ik e.e.a. in eigen woorden samengevat:
Dank voor je bericht. Ik vat het even samen in eigen bewoording:
Stel dat we succesvol zijn met de brief, dan zit ik totaal op 2 a 3 uur inspanning, klopt dat? Stel dat we een procedure moeten opstarten dan komt daar ca. 16 uur bij.

Daarop kwam een vaag antwoord:
Ja, dat is een inschatting van mijn werkzaamheden. De uren die ik reken voor de brief zijn de uren die ik vanaf dit moment kwijt ben. En wat de procedure betreft weten we natuurlijk niet hoe één en ander zich ontwikkelt. Juist omdat dit niet goed vooraf in te schatten is, werken we met een uurtarief. Dat geeft de minste misverstanden.

In de eerste zin bevestigt de advocaat dat mijn samenvatting klopt en in de tweede geeft hij aan dat het niet juist is zoals ik het heb samengevat. Zo werkt iemand die minuten dient te verkopen!

I am particularly disappointed by the very poor communication about the expected costs. I have asked several times for a budget when dealing with a file. I only got this over time (and therefore also effort). The budget was given on 11-2. Turns out that was FROM the afternoon of 11-2. Because before that time, time had also been invested that was not mentioned. And all this while I asked for a budget in ADVANCE.

There was a vague answer:

And as far as the procedure is concerned, we obviously don't know how things will develop. Precisely because this cannot be estimated in advance, we work with an hourly rate. That causes the fewest misunderstandings.

In the first sentence the lawyer confirms that my summary is correct and in the second he indicates that it is not correct as I have summarized it. This is how someone who has to sell minutes works!

Woon in Almere. Belde kantoor Groningen. Ze waren bereid de zaak aan te nemen. Zonder mij te adviseren dat Almere wellicht dichterbij was. Heb nog nooit mijn toegewezen advocaat gezien of gesproken na de eerste 10 min tel gesprek. Daarna geen passende service gehad. Lieten niks horen, belden niet terug. Daarna moest ik na veel tijd en moeite verspilling dat mijn advocaat geselecteerd was om mee te doen aan een TV programma genaamd Hunted. Een andere advocaat zou het overnemen. Uiteindelijk kreeg ik van de assistent te horen dat ik een uur voor de zitting aanwezig moest zijn om de zaak te bespreken. In de lobby. Advocaat schoot ook in de lach tijdens de zitting. Heb euro 1500 betaald voor een simpele zaak zonder respect en aandacht wat de zaak verdiende. Had het beter alleen kunnen doen.

Live in Almere. Called the Groningen office. They were willing to take the case. Without advising me that Almere might be closer. Have never seen or spoken to my assigned attorney after the first 10 minute count conversation. Didn't get proper service after that. Didn't hear anything, didn't call back. Then after a lot of time and effort wasted my lawyer was selected to participate in a TV show called Hunted. Another lawyer would take over. Ultimately, the assistant told me that I had to arrive an hour before the hearing to discuss the case. In the lobby. Lawyer also laughed during the hearing. I paid 1500 euros for a simple case without the respect and attention that the case deserved. Could have done it better alone.
