My wife and I dined at "de Leuf" on a Saturday in Feb 2023. This was our fourth visit to this gourmet restaurant (previously Oct 2019, July 2020 and Nov 2021). However, the van de Bunt family has meanwhile fundamentally refurbished the premises to great success and - after a short closure - reopened in Sept 2022 with a new concept.

Service:
The extensive team was very friendly and very obliging. We were welcomed very engaging and firstly directed to the bar, where we had a most remarkabIe welcome-cocktail - which we drank from nothing less than an ascidiate leaf. We liked the atmosphere very much, which we would now describe as professional and attentive.

Food:
The menu was again very carefully planned and arranged. The kitchen still places a certain focus on fish and seafood. The food's style is also still characterized by Asian components and interpretations. We would describe the overall level of the food now as outstanding. We were often quite impressed by the range and depth of the flavors. The kitchen exceeded our expectations in this regard in many cases.

Wine and other beverages:
In my view the wine accompaniment was very good. All wines came from different, mostly European wine growing regions. I would describe the style as modern. All wines were very matching to the dishes. My wife had a pairing of non-alcoholic beverages, which the restaurant now also offers. These beverages turned out to be excellent, elaborately homemade cocktails - which tasted simply wonderful. Impressive.

Presentation:
In our opinion, the presentation of the dishes and components remains really outstanding.
Colors and decorations were always appealing. The textures were always remarkable and often outstanding.
Some nice sculptural elements were presented and positionings were used in many cases as creative expressions. A pretty fake effect and several effects with smoke overflowing the table were shown. No less than three of those otherwise very rare olfactory effects were included.
The timing was very good, the sizes of the dishes were perfect. The service intensity at and around the table remains remarkably high with many changing occupations, often including the kitchen's team and the chef. In some cases, components were added to the dishes at the table. I liked the attunements to the dishes and, if necessary, the explanations of the aromatic composition.
In my view, the presentation of the wines was very good: Always informative and often with nice attunements in a modern style. The presentation of the non-alcoholic beverages was outstanding: All were elaborately arranged at the table with excellent explanations and nice attunements.

Price:
In our opinion, the price-performance ratio was very good overall.

In summary, we would say that the restaurant met our very high expectations with seemingly playful ease and exceeded them in many cases. We were quite impressed by the overall performance. We shall certainly visit de Leuf again.
