Loved my first visit to Hortus, the price seems fair (even with one glasshouse closed) if you are a plant fan! Great autumnal colours outside currently and more tropical plants have been moved indoors.

The butterfly house is open all year round which is unusual! 5 or 6 different species flying about - very pretty. Also liked their interactive temporary apothecary exhibition.

I probably spent 3 hours here in total with time sitting in the sunshine. The shop is fairly small but has a nice selection of items.

Great experience at this botanical garden. Awesome display of a variety of plants, shrubs, and trees. Worth a visit for the novice and experienced alike.

Our visit was in mid October and it was still a wonderful time however the main  greenhouse was closed for renovations.

Be sure to visit the butterfly house.

I did a private tour with Oscar which was very lovely. He is very well informed and had a lot of fun information.  The gardens is well laid out with info tags for each plant. My favorite section is definitely the carnivorous plant section and their butterfly house ! I think 2 or 3 hours is needed for this and can be a nice break from city.

It is a nice and peaceful place if you want to enjoy a few hours during a sunny day. The place is smaller than I expected, but if you have the patience you can read about all the medicinal plants. It s quite interesting.
The butterfly house is beautiful so take a moment to appreciate the beautiful organic colours.
Also, you shouldn’t miss the carnivorous plants.
A part of the place is under construction and also inside you can find a cute little bar.
The staff was really helpful and friendly.
They also have discount for students (7€)

We visited the park using our Amsterdam City Card and were delighted by its beauty. The park boasts a stunning variety of plants and flowers, with particularly lovely butterflies fluttering around inside one of the greenhouses. You can even "interact" with some of the plants—tasting, smelling, and feeling their unique characteristics.

Little extra, while visiting my phone battery died and the girl at the desk let me charge it up till 30%. That was very appreciated!
