Overall underwhelming. Expected a bit more at the amstel hotel. Food was nicely arranged but nothing special. Service started poorly considering the location but got better later. I wouldn’t go again. Location is beautiful on the river. Decor and interior is very traditional. Lacking a bit of a modern twist.

We had a dinner with four people and it was a lovely experience!

I would like to send my appreciation to the staff and especially to George for making our dinner so pleasant. The service was perfect and the food well prepared, and I will keep telling people how beautiful the restaurant and the hotel is in general.

(The venison was very tender and tasteful, I highly recommend it)

I’ve had another absolutely amazing dinner experience at La Rive. I come here once or twice a year, visiting from the US, and the food, the service, the wines, the staff... they are all just unparalleled.

I still have no earthly clue how they lost their Michelin Star, as I think their quality and the overall experience is just far superior to pretty much any other 1 or 2 star restaurant I’ve been to in The Netherlands.

I will keep coming back as it’s become a tradition that I cherish and that’s just getting better and better.

We’ve been to High Tea in the closed terrace, in a hot June afternoon. Food was good (my partner says: OK) and the service excellent, BUT it was very hot. Too hot to enjoy. They claim they have air conditioning, and you feel it in the bar, but not in the High Tea area. It’s not even possible to open a window. Pity they don’t serve it also in the open terrace.

After hearing a lot of positive reviews about the restaurant and the service at Amstel Hotel, I decided to have a coffee there and to enjoy the beautiful views of the Amstel river.

Even though I have only ordered a coffee, the service was exceptional, our waiter, Gael, being very attentive and professional. I will definitely come back here!
