The location is absolutely perfect, close to the station and the city centre. Could not ask for better! The staff were incredible, so polite and friendly. The rooms were quiet, with good temperature control. The bathroom is well equipped and a good size with an excellent shower. The bed is firm but comfortable and the linens were soft. The room was a good size and featured a big television with plenty of channels. I would highly recommend staying here!

Wow what a great experience we had, from the start the service and staff were amazing, we were in the apartment overlooking the river. View was stunning and rooms really clean. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Big shout out to Stan at reception who looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed, and pim who helped with all our bags. Breakfast was delicious. A big yes if your looking for a luxury stay in Amsterdam :)

We stayed at the NH Collection Barbizon Palace while attending a conference with colleagues.
The hotel's prime location opposite Amsterdam Central Station proved invaluable for our group, offering easy access to both public transport and the city center.
The elegant historic building houses spacious, well-maintained rooms, though some areas show signs of age, particularly the windows.
Our visit experience was enhanced by the attentive service staff, who efficiently handled our large group's needs. The breakfast stood out as a highlight, offering an extensive selection that satisfied diverse preferences.
While the hotel maintains a 5-star rating, some amenities fell slightly short of luxury expectations.
However, the superior room views of the canal (some of us) and the hotel's perfect positioning for exploring Amsterdam's cultural sites more than compensated for any minor shortcomings.
Most impressive was the staff's dedication to guest satisfaction, particularly during busy breakfast hours.
The blend of historic charm and modern comfort, combined with the unbeatable location, made this stay worthwhile despite the premium pricing during peak seasons.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Staff were lovely but one staff member in particular stood out. Every morning in the dining room at breakfast we were greeted with a smile by Paul. He made the start of our day pleasant in every way. He became our new Jamaican friend always catering to our needs, but most of all being personable and getting to know us as people. It’s staff like him that make a hotel feel like home and make you want to return again and again. I’m a luxury travel advisor and would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Paul for your outstanding personality and pleasant smile every morning, it made our stay special.

Our stay at NH Collection Barbizon Amsterdam was absolutely fantastic! The hotel’s central location near the main waterways and train station made exploring the city incredibly convenient. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The reception agent was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent recommendations for places to visit. Despite arriving early after a long flight from the US, we were delighted to check into our room before 3 PM.

The room itself was spotless, spacious, and perfectly suited for our two-day stay. Breakfast was another highlight, thanks to Paul, who greeted us each morning with a warm smile. His top-notch service and attention to detail made every meal enjoyable, and his insightful suggestions for our next trip to Amsterdam were much appreciated.

This hotel truly exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to return. Everything about our experience was 5 stars! Highly recommended!
