LOVED THIS HOTEL!

Great views (if weather cooperates).
Right on a canal.
Close to the largest market in Amsterdam.
Breakfast buffet was amazing and definitely had something for everyone no matter your country of origin.
Swimming pool, jacuzzi, bath tubs in the rooms.
I didn't use the spa unfortunately, could have used a massage.
Walk to the street and catch the #12 to the city. Or walk to everything because it isn't that far.
Just a great hotel and location.

Only issue i had was a noisy neighbor who kept sneaking out the fire exit onto a balcony to smoke, and the door slammed every time - I called the front desk and security handled it quickly at 1am.

Terrible experience, especially with the billing

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at this hotel was truly disappointing. At checkout, I noticed a big difference between the invoice amount and what I had actually paid. When I asked about it, the staff gave a vague explanation about currency exchange rates without even properly checking the details.

It wasn’t about confusing USD and EUR—I raised the issue because the difference was clearly too big. But instead of trying to resolve it, they just brushed it off. For a so-called 5-star hotel, the service was unprofessional and careless.

Staying here felt like a waste of money. I expected better.

One of the reasons I came to Amsterdam in December was the Festival of Lights, but not only that. I wanted to experience the markets. It was Christmas time, so other tourist attractions outside the city were closed. The hotel met all my expectations. The room was spectacular in size with the most advanced systems.Suites:  I was upgraded to a very large room : Corner Suite. I also asked for a yoga mat and they took care of that. The meal at the Michelin restaurant was an experience. I took the Japanese ceremony route, so the meal was served over time, each time a different dish, including a Japanese dessert and drink. I also ate at another restaurant in the hotel several times and its concept was pleasant, as was the food. The breakfast at the hotel had a large and satisfying selection.

I’ve stayed in many 5-star hotels over the years, and this one easily ranks in my top three. The hotel exudes pure luxury, with spacious, high-tech rooms, enormous bathrooms featuring actual bathtubs, and a truly 5-star breakfast. The service from the staff was impeccable throughout our stay.

For the level of luxury offered in Amsterdam, the price we paid was a bargain. We opted for an executive room, which was well worth the slight extra cost. It included access to the executive lounge, where we enjoyed stunning views, drinks, and snacks.

We’ll definitely return and look forward to experiencing other Okura hotels in the future!

A wonderful oasis of calm in a busy city.
The service has been nothing but fantastic and the room and accommodations have been wonderful.
I would definitely recommend anyone to come to Hotel Okura.
The breakfast was also world class.
Only very minor comment would be to add sparkling water in the mini bar.
Otherwise simply perfect
