This is our last night in Amsterdam and we just had the most amazing meal here!  We were looking for a restaurant serving grilled scallops and found restaurant black... we were not disappointed!  The staff is very friendly, the ambiance is cozy and everything we ate was unbelievably delicious!  Besides the melt in your mouth scallops I also enjoyed the fish of the day (Dorado).   Even the side salad was really delicious and included guacamole and diced beets and Walnuts!  Gonzalo, the manager, was lovely as well.  Thank you so much for a wonderful last meal in Amsterdam 😁

A gorgeous intimate restaurant right near the museum district. We were lucky enough to get a table for 2 without booking. The steak was 10/10 with a gorgeous char on it, cooked to perfection. The ribeye steak for 2 was 👌🏻💯

It was a cold day, so we stopped here for lunch.  We waited to be seated, not sure what conversation the staff were having in the restaurant, but it took a while to be seated.

We also had to wait to be given menus. We ordered an apple juice and a beer for food I had the grilled chicken sandwich on focaccia bread and my husband had the two croquettes on bread with mustard sauce. We didn't wait long for the food to arrive. The portions are large, you wouldn't need any extras with them. All freshly done and taste very nice.

We arrived at the right time for lunch, it suddenly started to get busy. A good range of choices on the menu.

The toilets are clean up some slightly steep stairs.

We have been to the other 2 brands of the chain and I can confidently say Black was the best.
The restorant itself has a warm and intimate vibe. Tables are well arranged, seats were comfy. The music was good and not very loud either.
We tried 4 different coctails (Paloma, Margarita, Pornstar and coctail of the month) They were all delicious at an affordable price.
Butcher steak was good.
Ribeye was very delicious. Cooked excatly the way we asked for, juicy and tender.
Brussel Sprouts, Beef and Mushrooms Bruschettas were tasty but nothing special.
For deserts we ordered Chocolate Crumble  - was really nice and Baklava - the weakest link of the night and the menu.

Service was really attentive and even took their time to discuss our feedback with us.
We enjoyed our meal and time at Black. Money well spent!
We will definitely visit again for the Ribeye and coctails.

Good food, horrendous treatment. For a 20:30 booking we arrived at 20:20 and only served at 20:50. Food arrived at 21:40. Good was good overall, but with few serious dings. First of all, that is NOT a bruschetta. It was served with a super wide toast. Also the well cooked meat was overcooked, lost all the juice in it. Other than that, rest was OK. Aside from being served super late, the staff was so confused to deliver orders to right tables. During our 2-hour visit, we were served more than 2 times with the food somebody else ordered, I was able to observe this confusion happening in other tables as well. All in all, the food was OK but the 20-min wait for the MENU and the 45-min wait for the food was a non-negotiable flaw. After starters, we waited for the main dishes so long, so long that one of waitresses approached us and asked if we want any dessert after our meal, thinking that we are actually just chatting after eating all the food. Not planning to visit again.
