Lovely, sweet little hotel with lots of charm and unbelievably kind staff. Adjoining tea house offers baked goods and breakfast/lunch menu. Included breakfast is healthy and plentiful; cappuccinos are great. Outside tables in the sun, overlooking the canal. The location couldn’t be better for a first time visitor, yet it isn’t a noisy area. The room is big enough and cute, with a mini fridge, desk and plenty of closet space. Only twin beds are available, which you can push together, or not; average comfort. Very steep staircase. Would recommend without hesitation.

I loved our stay here. I can honestly say it was the best stay I have had at hundreds of hotels, across multiple continents throughout my lifetime.

The staff were the best I have ever encountered. So kind and considerate, very helpful. On our checkout morning, we were leaving very early, before 6am. When I informed the staff of this, they offered to make us a “to go” breakfast the night before. I was very surprised, but somewhat skeptical. I figured the offer would be forgotten, which I completely would have understood.

The offer alone was considerate, but I knew they had other guests and other responsibilities rather than to us, who were checking out. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

That night, before bed, came a knock. They had packed us a perfect breakfast, which nearly matched their typical morning offering. I say nearly only because it actually exceeded the daily menu. They included substitutions which would travel better, and increased the number of typical items. They even included extra coffee cups so we could brew coffee to go in our room. Such a simple offering, and it left us with such a feeling of comfort I can’t adequately express.

As to the rooms, ours was perfect given our simple needs.  Quaintly designed, yet well equipped and appointed. The stairs, often uttered in Amsterdam, were indeed steep. As I said to my wife, each stair step rise’s to the heavens, but can’t run to save their lives. The steps are shallow, and the step height is tall. But, both walls have handrails to provide a bit of stability. Additional, the clerk offered to cart our bags upstairs upon check-in, sighting the steep stairs.

Location is amazing, especially if visiting the Ann Frank house. Walk to Central station is just under 15 minutes. Same to Dam square. Plenty of transportation options as well.

Please, please, please stay here! I don’t know that I will ever return to Amsterdam in my lifetime to repay their hospitality and service. But, maybe I can help inspire even one single customer to visit.

So friendly, we dropped by for a quick cuppa. They were about to close but stayed open for our cup of tea and cake. Delicious cake and lovely atmosphere. Really recommend. We didn’t stay in the hotel but enjoyed the cafe.

This hotel was so wonderful!! The breakfast was simple but a perfect way to start the day. The staff were so nice and went above and beyond!! Great location as well. We definitely stay here again 😊

Great little hotel, with wonderful breakfast included. The view of the canal was perfect, and location was within walking distance of many iconic places such as Ann Frank. The service was great, only it does not have a lift.
