This hotel is a dream away from home. Location, the Staff, & breakfast are top notch. The rooms are immaculate, but small, consider how the old the hotel is, charm will make up for the size.
ROSE, what a blessing she is at breakfast. We all started looking forward to seeing her every morning. She goes above & beyond. And made made us feel so comfortable. I will never forget her. The chef is a gentleman & outstanding at breakfast. Everyone is great!!! Even the cleaning staff. This hotel selects the best employees.

Nice hotel and conveniently located. Room was nice but can’t say much for the amenities since we didn’t use. Not sure if there were any. Service was great. Two down sides are room had carpets and if you stay by the city view, it gets loud with cars and people during the night and in the morning

Disappointing Customer Service and Unsuitable for Elderly Guests

Upon arriving, we were disheartened to find the door locked. When it eventually opened, the tall male receptionist neither greeted us nor offered my mother and me a place to sit. We stood in silence for a considerable time as he checked us in while remaining seated until I inquired if we needed to provide our passports and if I could take a seat. Even my mother, who doesn't speak English, remarked on his seemingly rude body language.

There was a flight of stairs leading to the main lobby, and no one offered to help with our luggage, despite my mother's noticeable age. The tall, indifferent receptionist merely observed us struggling. Given the stairs and their lack of assistance or kindness towards elderly guests, I would recommend that elderly people find accommodations elsewhere.

The following day, when we encountered him again, he continued to lack a smile and looked down his nose at us. The female receptionist also wore a stern expression. The only friendly staff member we met was the door man Maurice, who kindly engaged us in conversation and assisted with our luggage on our final day. We truly appreciated his kindness.

As for the hotel itself, the view from our room was acceptable. If you're looking for a tranquil place to stay, this hotel may not be ideal, as street conversations can be easily overheard. Additionally, the carpet was stained and not particularly clean. I strongly advise seeking accommodations elsewhere.

An absolutely special stay! My room at Tivoli Doelen had a beautiful balcony with a stunning view of the canals – simply magical. The historic building has so much charm, and you can feel the history in every corner. What impressed me the most was the staff – incredibly warm and attentive. I felt completely at home and will definitely be back!
