Why 5 stars? Because this is everything we wanted it to be. --- --- --- We only had one day in Amsterdam and knew that we definitely had to try some pancakes. What we would come to realize later is that this business is a chain all over Amsterdam, but that didn't take away from our experience. We shared a couple of savory pancakes and one sweet one. All of them were excellent: ham & cheese, bacon & apple, and chocolate, almond & banana. It's hard to say what my favorite was because they were really all great. The irony is that we ordered the Dutch pancakes and the Dutch table next to us ordered the American pancakes. You always want what you can't have. We also ordered some kind of coffee concoction with egg nog in it. This was indeed alcoholic egg nog, and the egg nog had the consistency of nutella, not liquid. It was interesting. I wouldn't ordered it again, especially because I am not a breakfast drinker, but it was worth trying. The place was comically tiny. The seating was all in a loft area where the tables were approximately 4 inches a part. This location certainly provides you an intimate experience with strangers sitting next to you. We're glad we chose this as our first meal ever in Amsterdam!

We stopped in for a quiet bite while on a walk around Amsterdam. This place is a little crowded but we still managed to get a table and were quickly served. As usual, the pancakes were perfectly prepared and delicious.

Honestly found this place pretty underwhelming. The pancakes lacked flavor and were pretty expensive for what you got.

Pancake was a bit salty. Asked for tap water, they said they only have bottle water for a charge. Ok, that's fine then. But what came was not bottle water (which would imply it's sealed). What came was tap water they filled in a reusable glass bottle. And I can clearly see their water station that dispenses still or sparkling water. Why was I charged for tap water? It may be filtered tap, but that doesn't make it the same as bottle water.

Decent but expensive pancakes. Straightforward and quick meal if you're close by but there are better pancakes in Amsterdam. That said, I thought the grapefruit pancake was good! Enough seating for a large party inside!

We traveled to Amsterdam not know what to expect! As a vegetarian I have limited options. But oh my goodness! this place made my trip unforgettable! The food, coffee and service made it my go to restaurant during my state! The place is a gem! I enjoy how clean it was and also organized! Loved the old pancake house style decorations!

Came here for lunch while visiting Amsterdam. The place is pretty small but we got a table for 4 up the stairs in the corner. I ordered the bacon and apple pancake and put some syrup on it. I've had Dutch pancakes numerous times before and this one was good but I've had better. The bacon was not crunchy and was only in the middle of the pancake. It was still good but not as filling as one's I've had in the past. Service was fast and friendly though. Side note, they do not have Poffertjes - which are the small fluffy pancakes usually served with powdered sugar and butter - but they have the regular Dutch pancakes instead.

We loved our Dutch pancake experience!! Like Chinese food I ordered way too much but loved sampling all the good stuff. The Dutch coffee was amazing as was the cinnamon apple pancake. The American pancakes too! And I loved their bacon!!
