Great hotel, great rooms, great saunas with the right temperature! Special thanks to the staff for the friendly and excellent service! It was my sister's birthday and she was congratulated with a delicious and beautiful cake. It was very unexpected and pleasant! Thank you, we had a wonderful time!

Loved my stay at this lovely hotel with the amazing hospitable staff and very very artistic pianist. The rooms were super clean. The breakfast was very yummy and healthy. The location is perfect if you want to walk around or if you have a car to drive. All the staff were very friendly and kind. Thank you all and I will definitely come again.

Incredible experience. From arrival to departure, the staff is dedicated to ensuring a fantastic stay. Words cannot fully capture how wholesome and soul-uplifting their breakfast is. The pools, both indoor and outdoor, are phenomenal, and the room service is outstanding. My only regret is not staying longer. I'll definitely find myself here again should I ever visit Lisbon.

I really don’t know where to start. If I had to put this in one word, I would say - immaculate. I first came across this hotel when I was looking up Fine Resorts through my AMEX card. I was planning a trip to Portugal and wanted to end my trip on a high note, so I decided to book a stay at Olissippo Lapa Palace Hotel… and I am so glad I did.

First impressions, the hotel is beautiful. It’s located in a more upscale local area, away from the hustle and bustle of central Lisboa, but still only minutes away by taxi. It’s very peaceful, calming, and serene. You’re immediately greeted by incredible service, making your stay as pleasant as possible.

I checked in a bit early, but was informed that my room got upgraded to the top floor. While i waited for my room, I took the time to explore the massive hotel, and behold all of its glory. If I recall correctly, this formerly used to be a palace, but since 30 years ago or so, it became a hotel. The piece is huge - it has a Michelin restaurant, bars, cafes, outdoor terraces, gardens, rivers, animals, and an incredible pool.

After an hour of eagerly waiting, my room was ready. Upon entry, I was blown away by the location and decor inside. There was a balcony directly facing the iconic 25 de Abril Bridge and Sanctuary of Christ the King statue. The room could not be better. I didn’t even want to leave the hotel … and in hindsight, I wish I booked more than one night.

Price-wise, for the location, quality, and experience, it’s highly worth it. Compared to other European countries, this is certainly cheaper, but just as great, if not better.

Staying here was one of the highlights of my trip and I hope to be back again soon.

Strengths:
* The front desk staff helped us check in early when there were available rooms.
* The room was generally clean and well-equipped.
Weaknesses:
* The service was poor, specifically in the following instances:
Incident 1:
* A staff member entered the room without knocking, using the card key, and quickly apologized upon seeing us and left. Later, when we sought the manager to investigate the matter and strengthen management, the manager replied that it was likely a housekeeping staff member and assured us not to worry, suggesting that the staff might have knocked but we didn’t hear it, and he would verify and provide feedback.
Incident 2:
* When we returned to the hotel around midnight and inquired about the outcome with the front desk, the receptionist, who was the same uncle who had helped us check in earlier, asked “So, what do you want?” after I repeated the details of Incident 1. When I asked if it was normal for housekeeping staff to enter without knocking, he replied, “Yes, it’s normal in the morning.” He then repeated at least five times, “I can’t do anything for you. You should find the manager yourself tomorrow.” After the conversation ended, he also complained about us in Portuguese, which we couldn’t understand, making us feel offended and unattended.
Incident 3:
* Finally, at breakfast the next day, the head of housekeeping explained the reason and apologized, stating that the housekeeping staff were unaware of our early check-in and thus entered to clean the room. We understood, but it was mainly due to the uncle at the front desk not notifying the housekeeping staff when he helped us check in early. Additionally, the room card he gave us in the morning didn’t work at night, requiring us to go to the front desk to resolve the issue.
Incident 4:
* On the morning of July 26th, when we were checking out, the manager still did not provide any explanation or apology for the uncle’s impolite attitude. I had to bring it up, and only then did the front desk coldly apologize with a few words.
In Summary:
* Choosing to stay at a hotel of the Leading Hotels of the World group was based on their service-oriented philosophy. However, it is clear that the uncle at the front desk and his team did not embody high-quality service, which was disappointing. We will not choose the Leading Hotels of the World group again.
Suggestions:
1. Enhance Staff Training: The hotel should strengthen customer service training for all staff to ensure that each employee provides professional and polite service.
2. Improve Communication: Ensure smooth communication between the front desk and housekeeping departments to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.
3. Upgrade Complaint Handling: The hotel should establish an effective complaint handling mechanism to ensure customer issues are addressed promptly and satisfactorily.
