Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra is a sprawling wonderland that feels straight out of a fairytale! There’s so much to explore, from the enchanting gardens and serene fountains to the charming chapels and winding walking paths. The highlight, without a doubt, is the mesmerizing Initiation (inverted) Tower—it’s an experience you simply have to see to believe. This place is perfect for adventurers, and hitting your 10,000 steps is almost guaranteed (if not more!). On your way out, don’t miss the delightful little tile shop along the road—it’s a hidden gem that adds an extra layer of charm to an already magical visit.

It was a lovely trip here, the gardens are great, with some cool caves and fountains and the famous well of course is worth a visit (there’s a lineup specifically for this spot even though it was after 5pm). The castle itself was pretty small and didn’t have anywhere as much you could view compared to the Pena or Sintra Palaces (unless there was a section we missed). The grounds itself are much more spacious.

It is however of course very crowded and busy, even when we visited in the late afternoon. Not my favorite spot in Sintra and wouldn’t be my top recommendation by any means but it was still pretty enjoyable.

Wonderful park with romantic ruins. Very special to see. The castle itself didn't impress too much, but the grounds, coves and plants are wonderful, as is the view. Be prepared to walk quite a bit. You can easily reach it by foot from Sintra center. Even if you go in off season - you won't be alone. The masses of people spread out nicely over the park though.

This place requires at least 1.5 hours if you maintain 100km speed walk. Otherwise it is marvelous and certainly needs 3 to 4 hours without even getting bored.
